Wanda was very personable and friendly. There is a code to get into the unit. No fumbling for key or a card!||This is a small resort with 26 units. Bethany Beach is "The Quiet Beach" with plenty of restaurants and things to do. A short ride in either direction will give you a lot of variety. ||Within walking distance are a CVS, Dunkin Donuts, a liquor store and several great restaurants.||The resort was clean and the units have been renovated. There are some renovations still going on.||There are many steps, so be prepared. It helps when working off the great meals!||I recommend this resort and we will be going back!

It floods INSIDE during thunderstorms. Trying to keep flood water from spreading inside with towels and blankets is not my idea of a relaxing vacation. Also, we were told there were only a few stairs. In reality it was a four-level townhouse. Kitchen and main area upstairs after a narrow full flight of stairs. For those of us on canes, it was extremely difficult to stay there and they didn't have anywhere else to move us to. There were ants on the first level. Only two of the three bedrooms had a TV with three married couples staying there.

The location of the resort is excellent. Centrally located to other beach towns and inland sights. All the units are multi-level so stairs for some may be an issue. The units are in the process of being upgraded / updated. Stayed before "season" started so it was quiet. Across the street from the beach.

Small resort, but close to town and the beach. Units have been renovated (they did this with out a special assessment). Very nice, grounds are clean, units are clean. Check in was the most easiest of any resort, just email them and the give you your unit number and the door code, then you just go there

As people who were working remotely during the pandemic, my husband and I decided to give ourselves a change of scenery and work remotely from the beach during the winter. We opted for a three-bedroom townhouse-style condo at Summer Place to give ourselves plenty of room to spread out while on zoom calls. Boy, were we disappointed!||As we walked in, the ground floor looked good. There was an updated bedroom (with two twin beds) and bathroom as well as a laundry room under the stairs. The next floor wasn’t quite as brand new. It was the open plan kitchen, dining, living room space with a half-bath off the kitchen. The half-bath and kitchen looked new. The furniture in the living room looked like that depicted in the pictures of an updated unit on the website, but only after it had been ridden hard and put away wet. It was very, very worn and had stains. I know these units get used hard in the summer when guests pack in as many bodies as they can, but the upholstery was really beat.||And that, it appeared, was where any updates to the unit stopped. The carpet leading up the stairs to the third floor looked ancient, and the two bedrooms and bathroom on that floor clearly hadn’t seen any updates in a good 15 years. The décor dated from the era when forest green and pink prevailed. The bathtub had no stopper, so you couldn’t take a bath. At least the king-size bed in the master bedroom was comfortable, but there was an alcove (I guess you’d call it) where the dresser sat that had ancient, torn wallpaper in it. Only one night table had a lamp on it. ||Finally, the fourth floor, which is where the sauna is and which I guess is supposed to be a hang-out space (I’m sure people cram in air mattresses for kids up there in the summer) had an ancient box television and a patio table (metal with a glass top) and four chairs (metal with plastic webbing). It looked like it hadn’t been touched in eons. The full bath up there was equally old and dated. ||The resort was not crowded in January, and this was the best unit that they could give us? I was very disappointed.||I will say that the staff was very friendly and pleasant, and the Wi-Fi worked great while we were there. Bethany Beach is so quiet and peaceful in the winter. Some restaurants were closed, but we were able to find someplace for dinner every night.|

Beware. This place is not secure. Don’t trust Summer Place. When I went upstairs, the patio door leading to the master bedroom was wide open. That alarmed me. The next day I noticed the front door didn’t lock from the outside nor the inside. The lock was rigged. I I heard footsteps coming up the steps I. The middle of the night. After I realized the front door was insecure and I also noticed the small door leading under the stairwell was open when initially it wasn’t. Very scary. I left within 24 hours.

We had a two bedroom condo which was 3 floors. The sauna was on the 3rd floor in the loft. It was a remodeled unit which was very nice. Washer and dryer was a convenient too. Lots of stairs to keep you in shape.

While this place is unique and big enough to accommodate a large family, it needs a thorough cleaning. First unit we were in: The ceilings are scared with water marks and the floor is soft in more than one place, including the shower. However, it is nice to have a sauna in the room (on the third floor) but the shower up there wasn’t working at the moment. This sauna heated up to 170, perfect! The window sills haven’t been dusted in years and the blinds are nasty and some are broken. Naturally the beds are uncomfortable but the decor is adorable and the couch is comfortable. The main door on this unit didn’t close nicely but the keypad entry was a huge plus. Much to our surprise on this rainy weekend when we returned from being out, it was raining in my room, on the bed my clothes were laid out on. We called and Wanda moved us immediately. Happy to be accommodated and annoyed to be packing and moving and unpacking after our second night- Right next door. Second unit we were in: soft, loud floors, same couch and decor. Sauna on the third floor didn’t heat up past 100, garbage filled cans in the master bed room, no cold water in the main shower and the shower head in the shower on the third floor barely works properly. All things considered we were just happy to be in a room that wasn’t leaking. Until this morning, when my mom went to take out a plate for breakfast and there was a tooth on it. Yes, a tooth. Can’t decide if it it’s a crown of a tooth or the half of the tooth itself. Needless to say, I’m thrilled to be able to be already be home!
