Suburban Studios Tallahassee near University - Extended stay hotel in Tallahassee - 522 Silver Slipper Ln, USA

Checked into the suburban hotel Tallahassee on July 19, 2024. No problems checking in on when we got to the room and open the door my heart sank. This room is absolutely filthy. Upon further inspection once we got into the room I realize there was no coffee pot. The TV was broken on the left side it still worked but it was broken. The dresser drawers where I’m supposed to put my clothes had rat droppings in them. The microwave had a busted handle and The interior of the microwave is all rusted. I opened up the kitchen cabinets to find mold in the drawers. Bathroom have live roaches crawling on the toilet. I called the front desk to find out about getting a coffee pot and told her that the room was filthy, she said she couldn’t get in the housekeeping because she didn’t have a key but they could bring me one in the morning. Later on in the evening I realize there was no hairdryer so I called back to the front desk and she told me the same thing. Saturday they had all day to rectify the issue with the coffee pot and the hairdryer at minimum and they did nothing. Housekeeping never came in to do any changing of towels. In my socked feet I walked from the bed to the bathroom and my socks were extremely filthy. I ended up throwing them away because I didn’t know what was on them. There were people mingling around at all hours of the night smoking weed and being a little loud. I never fell asleep on Friday night because I felt like somebody was gonna break in my vehicle. I did not feel safe at this hotel at all. I filed a formal complaint with choice hotels. This property should never be on a choice hotels listed at all. Hotel is not fit for an animal to stay in. The parking lot and around the building full of trash. if I could give this hotel a negative review it wouldn’t be a number no enough to justify how bad this place really is. We checked out Sunday morning today July 21, 2024 and the man at the front desk I voiced my grievances with him and like the other person On the night shift had the same attitude They could really care less.

This is a decent place to stay for the price. The room was a little dated and run down but was clean and no bugs. Has a full kitchenette but no pots, pans, or utensils. Nice pool. Downside is lots of shady characters loitering around and people bumming. Rear parking lot had lots of trash.

Sorry, we cannot recommend this place. Although the front desk people were super friendly, we didn't like the PLACE. They required a $100 deposit for one night, which they did fully refund to us. Sadly, this neighborhood feels kind of sketch. The last photo is the view from our front door showing multiple grocery carts near the trash cans. However, if you're willing to overlook the downsides, they DO have great plumbing, cooler, and fantastic beds. Kitchenette with full-size dishwasher and fridge. Secure door and window locks. The gray vinyl flooring looks brand new. Really nice paint job. Huge Jet tub! There were no bugs. However, the furniture and cabinetry have not yet been updated.

So I was here for about 8 months give or take? My stay ended because somebody decided to attack me and for some reason they made me leave as well... I'm not sure why. But I would say the place is actually pretty decent. The rooms are okay if you get a good one if you don't well just ask to be moved and they will move you. The internet is absolutely awful however I mean it does not function properly ever. The location is pretty decent there's a decent amount of restaurants and stores for you to purchase food items from and whatnot. But there are a lot of seriously aggressive people that tend to visit this place from what I learned over my 8 months. And they lose their heads very quickly. Just do what I did and stay under a camera especially if you're a smoker who gets placed in a non-smoking room like I did.

I stayed here because an agency booked the room for me while I transitioned during a move. I was told that it had been a pretty sketchy scene in the past but that they had since stopped booking rooms for certain services like emergency shelter, which eradicated many of those issues. I was skeptical upon hearing that but I only saw 2-3 people max anytime I went outside. It was quiet and uneventful, and I didn’t get the trap house vibes I was expecting. 😅 I didn’t see any evidence that housekeeping actually visited on the days listed, but initially the room was very clean…extremely outdated 🥴 but clean. Except the stained and worn couch. If replacing the couches is too great an expense I’d recommend covers that can be purchased fairly cheap but would make a huge difference. It’s not a place I’d ever stay by choice, but decent enough to be grateful for being provided in a time of need. Gave 3 stars instead of 2 because of the huge jacuzzi type bathtub in the room. 😊

This is a drug Hotel the front desk employees are rude and the manager will put the phone down and walk away. My daughter was attacked by a guy and they would not let her use the phone to call for help. If care about your safety don’t stay there. They don’t have cameras that work it’s for a reason. I could not give a 0 or I would have.

DO NOT EVER BOOK THIS LOCATION!!!!!!. If i could rate lower then a 0 I would!!. I honestly don't know how this place is even operational... First off we were given the keys to someone else's room which apparently they were "living in". The linen smelled awful, there was a big trash bag in the corner with trash or dirty linen, the beds were not made, someones dirty razor was left in the bath tub, there were cigarettes and ashes all over the desk, the kitchen was NASTY. Once we were given a new room after reporting this to staff the new room smelled like disgusting old cigarettes, the door handle literally BROKE OFF. Every surface was filthy. The pictures shown are completely FALSE those rooms look NOTHING like the actual room. We left disgusted and will update as to whether we received a refund for our three night reservation and $100 deposit! So many cleaner and nicer places down the road. SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!! We have traveled all over the country and this is truly the worst hotel we have seen.

Staff is friendly... but do not recommend staying here. Floors were disgusting... we had to drag towels under our feet to walk around. I requested a cleaning service but it never came. There was soap in the shower from the previous ppl. The bed sheets bed sheets were damp. Do NOT recommend.
