This is one of my favorite lighthouses because it's tall!! The rocky shore line is fun for hunting. The shop was closed for the season. Parking is gravel and there was a satellite toilet when we stopped. I really enjoy the peak in the school house windows. What a different life back then☺️

Beautiful lighthouse and beach. We were disappointed that we couldn't actually go inside the lighthouse and gift shop, but enjoyed to beach. Great Rock hounding on the point. When we visited, you could walk atleast 100yds out on the point. The bathroom (vault toilet) could have been a bit cleaner, but couldn't they all? Plenty of parking, but not much for trailer parking.

What a cool natural phenomena. The waves crash into each other from north to south and from south to north, pushing the rocks up on the sand bar. We found several fossil examples too. It's definitely worth the stop!

Tickets to climb to the top of the lighthouse are $3 and totally worth it. The staff were friendly, fun, and knowledgeable! It gets a little tight at the top of the stairs but nothing most people couldn't handle.

Beautiful location. Found some petoskey stones here. School was open and interesting.

Went here on a winter day. The lighthouse was closed for the season but there are interesting exhibits outside. There's a nice stretch of beach with a rocky point jutting into the lake. It would be good for rock hunting on a warmer day.

What a great gem of a lighthouse to visit. The grounds at the lighthouse are well kept and clean.. The Staff working at the lighthouse were very friendly and informative. They answered all of our questions, and we had many lol. So cool that they had an old schoolhouse on the property, and old nautical relics on the grounds. It was neat to see the inside of the lighthouse and the tower. It's amazing to see the engineering involved to erect one of these things, and that they stand the test of time by lasting as long as they have. We collect figurines of the lighthouses that we visit, and were surprised that the gift shop carried the style of figurines that we collect. So great to have this lighthouse to take the Family to, to learn about maritime history. Can't wait to return to visit again soon!
