This is an awesome gym with an amazing atmosphere, once I walked in I was greeted by nearly every member of their team introducing themselves including the head coach Sensei John. Sensei John is a very kind person with a wealth of martial arts knowledge who has produced many great coaches and instructors as well as talented fighters. He will take his time to teach u every technique down to the last detail. His fight team is large and talented with tons of well skilled fighters all from different backgrounds who all have different styles so it’s always fresh. He brings in coaches from not only around the country but around the world and every Sunday brings in tons of fighters from different schools and hosts what he calls “spar wars” where you get to train with different guys with different style so it’s always fresh. Striking 101 is an amazing gym whether your goal is to fight or to just get a workout in you will learn how to defend yourself in a fun and challenging way.

I train out of Glory MMA, and I can confidently say that Striking 101 is a 2nd home for me to hone my craft. The Sunday sparring sessions pushes you to your limit, forces you to break past them in order to excel as a martial artist, Joshu Aaron is one of the most knowledgeable and uplifiting coaches in the Gym, Under the tutelage of Sensei Johnathan Paul Ruiz. Great Fighters coming out of that gym on their way to be future Pro Champs.

Went to my first trial class today. Sensei was great the group was amazing most are all fighters. They were all very encouraging and welcoming. Great work out by the way. Will be returning because it’s well worth the price and the experience btw thank you Sensei. Osu

Striking101 is the best Mixed Martial Arts in NYC & even in the USA! I am not even kidding I was stranded in the Bronx looking for a best MMA school then I didn’t expect myself to travel to Queens and build my Career with Striking101. The Sensei John is raising me like I was his child and leading me in a amazing path. My Striking game got crazy good but my grappling helps the whole gym improved of their ground game which striking has it all from standing to ground… can’t believe myself that I am a multiple MMA champion and representing the school so well and now look at me teaching as a coach/teacher for MMA. Just a 20 year old kid with big dreams to chase. My journey with striking101 is successful. Also gotta say striking101 is like family and I promise you one thing you will feel like it’s your second home.

Workouts are intense! You’re surrounded by so many great people ( coaches, sensei and even teammates ) that push you beyond what you think your limits are! They will not let you fail and you feel accomplished when you complete a class. The feeling is like no other! They also develop real champions that you get to work with and it’s an honor to work with them. I originally signed my son up first and within weeks I noticed a positive change in his attitude and his confidence has risen. I had to sign myself up after and has made our bond stronger and for that I am forever grateful. The only problem I have is that I wish I had more time to take more classes.

My daughter has been going to striking101 for a few years now and she loves it, this is her home away from home. This is her second family.. amazing team.
