What a beautiful find! Lots of bikes, dog walking, trails, and this great hike to the reservoir. Hike is not at all strenuous for the average person. Nice, slow incline. Plenty of trail options. Amazing how close it is to city (can see it from the top) but how secluded you feel while hiking. Love all these open spaces. Go visit!
This is an absolutely beautiful place for our doggies to fully enjoy!! Loved it!! The water is crystal clean dogs Only allowed to swim. It’s fenced all around with two openings on opposite sides. Some trees for shady spots to relax. Our dog had a blast running with other dogs up and down the beach and swimming! No lie it’s a bit of a hike to get up there, but so worth it! A zig zag dirt road about a 20-30 min hike. Up the mountain to this gem of a spot!! The views are heavenly
Trail Series, Part 20 In an effort to explore as many trails in Colorado as possible, our next stop was “Stratton Open Space Park” located in Colorado Springs. Their multitude of trails welcome hikers, runners, mountain bikers, leased dogs, and equestrians. Although access isn’t provided to the “Gold Camp Reservoir,” your dog is welcome to enjoy a refreshing dip in the waters of the “Mesa Reservoir” (fishing and human swimming is prohibited). There are numerous great views of the surrounding mountains, the valley below, and the iconic Broadmoor Hotel, so be prepared to snap a few pics. Convenient parking is provided and all hiking and running abilities are able to enjoy these trails (including those with strollers/baby joggers when accessing the wide and well maintained fire access road). This trail is easily accessible from The Springs and offers something for nearly everyone. And that’s…Henry’s Take. #coloradotrails #hikingcoloradosprings #runningcoloradosprings
A great place for a quick weekend stroll! The highlight of this park for me was the South Suburban reservoir. You can walk right down to the water. No swimming allowed but dogs are allowed in. The Gold Camp reservoir was super peaceful to gaze at from a distance. There were a ton of bikers on the trails here and there are some dedicated biking routes. This park is usually busy given it’s proximity to the city. The water features here are one of the main attractions in my opinion.
A wonderful place here... plenty of trails to pick from... excellent views all around... and I am so happy to say we have found another place that is well maintained AND not littered with trash or graffiti!!! Good job humans!!! Most trails are for hiking, looks like a few for bikes... you can follow it up to the Mesa Reservoir... sat and enjoyed nature... no interruptions from anyone...
Beautiful views The only downside is the narrow trails & mountain bikes flying down. At times, it felt like we had a choice to jump off the cliff or get hit by the bikes....
Visited today for the first time and really enjoyed our hike. The reservoir was closed but was able to take some pictures through the fence. The place is clean and today’s weather was absolutely perfect for a hike here!!!
One of our new favorite places to come with the dogs. There's lots of awesome trails and dogs can swim in the reservoir at the top of the hill. Really dog friendly.

Little ones playground, basketball courts, small climbing wall, zip lines, baby swings, and a large center grass field. For playing or relaxing, or have a picnic. I believe I spotted a couple of picnic tables. Nice quiet playground.
I have played the playground for about an hour and a half. They have three different play areas within the same distance, and two sets of swings. Definitely a park for all ages. Lots of places to sit and watch your Kiddos. Also, a good amount of par
A beautiful little park with a wide open flat field. The grass is so green in the summer. Lots of sports teams practice on this field. We set off some small rockets in the middle of this field. There is a perfect 180 degree view of the mountain range

I have never been a part of a community so supportive of each other. The fact that I also get a good workout is just the cherry on top. The coaches are amazing! They take the time to get to know you and they know when to push you and when to back off
Wow! Gluten and dairy free for over a decade. Probably that long since Iâve had fried chicken. The fried thighs with sweet potato fries were tasty and fresh from the fryer. The fry bread with cinnamon and sugar were a great way to finish the meal.
