Strathmore Bagels & Deli - Bagel shop in Wellington - 4095 FL-7, USA

The Strathmore used to be a great establishment back in the day but their standards have dropped. Today was the last straw. We ordered two sandwiches to go and discovered both were completely wrong when we arrived at our destination in Del Rey. One was supposed to be nova, tomato and scallion cream cheese on untoasted rye bread. When we unwrapped it, we were dismayed to see toasted rye bread, one thin slice of nova, NO CREAM CHEESE, huge, thick cut onion slices, tomato, lettuce, capers, and huge cucumber slices. The other one, which was supposed to be plain bagel with nova, regular cream cheese and onion. Instead it was a bagel, one thin slice of nova, NO CREAM CHEESE, huge thick cut onions, huge thick cut tomato’s, huge thick cut cucumbers, capers and lettuce. It did not make any sense. Most people ordering nova want cream cheese, don’t they? And who cuts 1 inch thick slices of tomato and onion? Both sandwiches were more like salad sandwiches. If I were closer, I would have driven back and demanded a refund and re-do but unfortunately I’m 30 minutes away. I also tried to call the place to complain but they do not answer the phone. Clearly this restaurant/deli must be struggling and I, for one, will never return.

I have been to this restaurant over 30 times over the past 10 years and the only consistent thing has been the terrible service. The waitress that took care has of us been there since I first visited, and she is just as rude as the hostess ladies that sit you at the table. I have never experienced this in any other restaurant that I have frequented. This particular waitress always has an attitude. If you ask for anything, she is dismissive and when I signed the credit card receipt, she snatched it out of the table and stood next to us checking to see if we left a gratuity. Unreal!!!! I will never be back to Strathmore.

Unexpectedly came across this place one day and decided to check it out, was very surprised with the size of the line but after the wait, I understood why so many people get bagels there. They are a great size, taste delicious and not to mention they have the sweetest staff. Grabbed an ice coffee while I was there and was pleasantly surprised with the fact that they use/make coffee ice cubes in house so that your coffee doesn't get watered down. Looking forward to returning to try out some of their cream cheeses and some of their other bagel varieties!

Service was bad; took a long time to get our food and then when we did the hostess seemed annoyed at us instead of the other way around, even though we didn’t complain at all. Also the order was messed up and overpriced for what we were getting, although it tasted good. I get if it’s stressful because of being understaffed or something but I’m not sure why we were treated like that as customers.

Horrible service not what I asked for then when I go back in the Asian looking lady gives me attitude when she messed up my order. I just kept it and scraped this hunk of goo off. $6+ for Swiss miss cocoa and a bad bagel. NEVER AGAIN!!

We used to drive from Lake Worth to Coral Springs to visit a favorite breakfast spot of ours. Oddly enough, the owners of that place asked us if we ever tried Strathmore in Wellington. We had never heard of it, but we made a note that we should probably try it one day. Last week was our first try, and it was love at first bite. It was an OMG moment. I love eggs but never get excited about them. Whoever is cookin' them up in their kitchen knows EXACTLY what they are doing. I can't really explain it better than saying you have to taste them to believe it. Scrambled eggs are on another level. And that's the boring and safe way to eat eggs, in my opinion. Their omlettes....fugedaboudit. I'm 53 years old and have never been served an omlette like the way they make it, and they are ENORMOUS. If you're into grits....enough real whipped butter on the side lets you make a delicious soupy mess out of them. I grew up in the south and have consumed my fair share of grits....these were the best I have ever had. Now, let's talk about their bagels. They have an impressive selection, even if you show up shortly before closing time on a Saturday. They even have flagels, bialys (not sure if I spelled that correctly), baked goods, and a deli counter. We have only been there twice, so I'm sure I haven't listed some of their offerings. Their menu is extensive, and I would say that there is something for everyone, even of its just a snack. And one more thing....the potato pancakes were to die for. Go check this place out!

First time back since 2013, we were seated by a waitress who had a problem with her foot, and seemed annoyed and disconnected from her waitressing. Bagel ordered toasted with light butter delivered hardly toasted. She corrected me saying that that’s the way you ordered it. She didn’t even ask me if I wanted it toasted more. She never came back to our table to ask how everything was. Her attention was on a table with regulars and never asked anything but brought check. I called her over to ask how I should pay her or up front. I gave her an 18 per cent tip which was not deserving. She gave me a DIRTY LOOK when I was leaving. If you want a waitress who can’t do her job and food not up to par with prices over the top then choose other Such as I Hop
