Such a wonderful park and beach!
It seems to be quieter than others in the area and has a nice big (free) parking lot at the entrance. There are washrooms and a rinse off station in the parking lot and a couple of different access points to the beach. On the north side of the lot you can take the stairs down to the walkway/beach or you can use the switchback ramp to the south of the parking lot (it's a couple minutes up the street). The upper walkway is really pretty, lined with palm trees and art and the lower walkway has lots of benches to sit and take in the view! It's such a pretty coastline, definitely worth a visit!
OMG a little secluded spot, minimal traffic. Just enjoy the sounds of the ocean, walk on wet sand beach or raised pavement next to beautiful homes. Take an umbrella, there's no shade. It's almost a thousand steps from parking to ocean, some stairs, some sidewalk, but it's worth it.🫠
It's great for a walk or to catch the sunset, beautiful views. There is no easy access to the beach, however.
What a perfect place to ride bikes, walk your dog, have a picnic, hang out with friends, or just watch a romantic sunset! Amazing! And free parking! Your tax dollars hard at work.
The lot closes at midnight, so if it's after midnight and you're looking for a good place to hang out, don't go here. You'll get the boot!
Very, very, very clean. Great place! Enjoy!
Very beautiful place. Beautiful views. Many dining options, stores and other places of interest nearby. Interacting with the locals made it pretty clear that some of them have a smug sense of entitlement. I’m sure they tire of tourists and that accounts for most of the attitude. I wouldn’t let that sort of thing dissuade me from another visit. It was kind of funny (in a pathetic sort of way). The bottom line is that Dana Point and the surrounding area is very nice to visit and that’s that.
Such a beautiful spot to watch the sun going down. It's magical! Plus, parking is free.
This is such a beautiful & serene location that looks over the ocean. It's a great place to watch the sunset.
From the Ritz-Carlton Dana Point, the view is incredible, and at night, lights are placed all the way down the paved trail towards Stands Beach & Strands Vista Park.
For the budget conscious, there is another way that takes the aforementioned paved trail to Strands Beach & Strands Vista Park. To take this route, there is a large parking lot at the top of the trail, which offers free parking.
Very quiet beach (on a cloudy Saturday evening) with amazing views and photo opportunities. There are a ton of stairs to go down to the beach and climb back up on, but it makes it perfect for a little walk. You can loop the beach by coming down one way and up another and continue on the top back to the other entrance. The beach itself was not too big, as you can see high tide leaves very little room for a dry patch.

Great place for a couple good pints. Three of us visited and tried a blonde, and IPA, a fruited sour and an imperial stout. We liked them all. Great flavor on the imperial stout!
