I really loved this hostel. I stayed for 2 nights. As a single female, I felt 100% safe staying here. The men were very respectful and everyone was friendly and welcoming. It had a community vibe to it.
Staying here, you have to keep in mind that you’re paying the bare minimum. If you expect this place to be like a 5 star hotel… go stay at one.
I booked this place before reading the google reviews. I honestly was mortified and expected the worst after reading them. But it helped me arrive prepared so… bring flip flops or slippers for the showers. Bring your own toiletries. Bring water to drink. Other than that, everything was fantastic.
My only complaint that’s beyond the hosts’ control is the location. There’s literally nothing to do there. But, there’s a bus you can take that’ll drop you off at the red line, and that’ll take you straight to Downtown. So at least that is easily accessible.
I have never stayed in a hostel before, I have found it a wonderful experience. After being in hotels for the last 2 months, it's like being home in a way. There are others around, and it's nice.
I was disappointed in the mixed dorm I was harassed all the way out the room. They wouldn't return my money. The floors stayed dirty, not toilet paper in the bathrooms, loud music over night and the bed stairs had loose screws I could have fallen off at any time.
This is not a HOSTEL, it is a SHELTER FOR HOMELESS PEOPLE. I paid for 4 nights, and left the same day. In my room there was someone with bad foot odor, I LEFT FRIGHTENED
DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY.
I don’t really have a huge expectation when I’m choosing places under $20 but I have never stay in such a terrible place like before. There’s literally nothing good that I could say about this property. The room and the bathroom was extremely dirty. It wasn’t even because of other people mess. the toilet looks like it wasn’t clean in a few months. I didn’t get a towel, the bed didn’t have a bed sheets and blanket that I supposed to sleep under smelled disgusting. I wouldn’t even call it a hostel. I think it’s a more of a place for people who cannot afford housing and staying there long term. I didn’t feel comfortable and safe there. That was a terrible experience. I don’t recommend it to anyone I would rather sleep under the bridge then go back to that place.
So I stayed at the one called shut-eye hostel. This hostel is nicer, I guess because it's on the north side of Houston. The floors, and the walls could be cleaned. But other than that it's nicer, inside and out. The location is good too. Yes people do stay here for as long as the property, and their money will let them. So if you are looking for a particular crowd, try wonderstay hostel. There is another you can try if you are visiting, and don't want to think people are living in a hostel like people live in hotels.
Edited: so I stayed two nights. It's ok, but the people walking around barefoot is too much for me. Come save money or not. I might come back but the beds are uncomfortable, and not enough cleaning, or cleaning products.
I advise no one to go to this location, the guests there are liars and are very disrespectful. The owners believe word of mouth instead of finding out what actually happens. People smoke in the rooms and are always stealing. The owners are very disrespectful and will talk to you like you're not a human. All they care about is their money and whatever drugs they can get from you. Definitely do not recommend
Booked on Expedia so I paid 32$ which was a total rip off. This place is not a trap house but by a thin margin. If you’re a traveler looking for a place to wash up and get some sleep this isn’t it. Lights were still on and the host was talking very loudly at 11:30. Ended up sleeping in my car.
Absolute great environment and atmosphere. The team at PSF will encourage and support you through your fitness journey. Within my first 4 months, I had put on 18 lbs of muscle. I would highly recommend PSF to anyone looking to transform their body.
Cozy and is inside cool shipping container building. I stumbled upon this when I was out up in Houston for an event from my boyfriend and didn't want to go to Starbucks. They are very pet friendly with my cat and let me stay to work while enjoying th
