Stop & Shop - Grocery store in West Hempstead - 50 Cherry Valley Ave, USA

I had an amazing experience as I was shopping. My favorite part was going to the Bakery. There was a lady who was the manager of the bakery. Her name is Trinity. And also there was a guy who worked there and his name is Deon. They were both very nice, respectful, well mannered, helpful , patient and helped me look for what I needed. The bakery was also nice and clean.

I worked here for less than a year and had to quit because of one manager here, Earnest. Lindsay is great and always helpful. Earnest on the other hand, is incredibly rude and entitled. He is the sole reason I quit on the spot. I had to change my schedule from open availability to mornings only. Because they are consistently short staffed, I was spread between 3 departments. When I had a concern, I had to unfortunately speak to Earnest. He was so disrespectful that I gave my two weeks. Then he made some snide comments so right then and there I decided to never come back as an employee after that day. He does not care how much you do, he also didn't even seem aware that I was bounced between 3 departments. Which just goes to show his level of "professionalism". He does as little as possible and never faces consequences, yet I'm supposed to accept his attitude? I have never had a problem with any other manager or coworker. It's a miracle no one has noticed his incompetence yet. So now, the store is down one employee that they couldn't afford to lose because he wanted to feel big & important. I wish Matt & Lindsay all the best! They are the only reasons why I stayed as long as I did.

Store has gone downhill since the shooting. I think it's poor management. The produce department needs a complete overhaul and the stockers need to be educated on what is the difference between rotted and fresh. The Deli department always stinks to high hell of something gone bad. Overall, if something is out of stock in the store, it usually takes a long while until it's restocked.

October 24th , needed lettuce again , they didn’t look great but I didn’t expect it to fall apart when I took the plastic off … 11/8/2022 - Once again at stop n shop only to see the small hollow lettuce again , for 3.99 a head ! Guess I’m heading to Western Beef again for decent veggies . How come I only see this at stop n shop ? By the way , why haven’t they had to - go coffee cups with lids in months now ? Just wondering … any answers stop n shop You did respond once with bad info

The store is always clean, unlike the Franklin Squares store. Food is fresh looking and so good. The staff is wonderful! Always have what I need

Prices are competitive. Service is slow/non-existent. Wait for cold cuts at deli counter is agonizingly long even if there are very few customers. This is consistent week to week, not just an isolated occurrence. Fish counter is hit or miss. When it is staffed it’s relatively fast, but there are many times when no one is behind counter. The latest disservice to customers is no chicken or ground beef on shelves. This is at 8 am. They open at 6. I guess no one cares. This has happened 3 times so far. The only saving grace to this mediocre store is self service checkout. At least there is no wait there. Also, cherry valley market across the street generally has better cold cut prices, but store is somewhat dirty. Update 1.20.24- deli counter still agonizingly slow. After gathering all my groceries was confronted by a shut down self checkout section and only 2 registers open with 15 people on each line. This place goes out of its way to provide customer disservice. Stay far away from this place. Go to the store in Franklin square.

T!his Stop & Shop is just alright. They seem to never have many items one might be looking for. And major pet peeve of mine is the cashier belts along with the self check out item placement are NEVER clean !

Great environment. Great variety. Starbucks inside. Go too grocery place. There is also always parking!
