We have stayed here on at least 3 previous occasions and on this stay noticed that the hotel does need some updating. The bed was very comfortable but in common with many hotels daily housekeeping is no longer automatic which we feel is poor. The breakfast was distinctly average so we ate out for the remainder of our stay. The hotel is in an excellent position and nice location and with some modernisation we would certainly return. We used the laundry facilities which were adequate and at reasonable cost.

Absolutely love this place! I have stayed here at least 50 times over the last 2yrs. Only place for me when I'm working within 2 hours from this location. Can't say enough about the staff. Breakfast is good. Rooms and scenery are exceptional. I have spent way more money for places to stay that don't come close to what this place has to offer. Also has a lake, Bass Pro, and Duluth trading in the same parking area. Mexican restaurant is a plus. Only negative that I have would be the kids and their noise level. The place is so big and open, the parents allow theirs kids to use it as a play ground. Not the hotels fault!!

To start off, there were ants in our room. There weren't too many but a couple is too many. There was no bedding on the pullout couch or in the drawers. My kids were being rowdy as they were waiting for the bed to be made (it was only 9:30ish by this point). When I went to the front desk to ask, I was only given a pillow and told us it was in the bed. It was not or else I wouldn't have went to get some but she didn't listen. I received a phone call from the front desk (very rudely I might add) stating quiet hours were at 10 pm and we got a complaint (it was only 9:45). My wife went down to get a blanket as I was only handed a pillow. She same back with a very ragged thin blanket with holes in it. At this point it was 10:00 and my kids needed sleep so we let it be. We were not told breakfast hours or even told any amenities there. We figured it out on our own. It was a very stressful night/day. The good part of the stay is the pool is nice but the hot tub was way too hot for my wife or myself. But that's a minor thing. The breakfast was good and the staff there was friendly and very attentive. The location is nice! It's a beautiful place. I wish this made up for the troubles but it doesn't. I'll stick to my original hotel. I just wanted to branch out and regret it.

Very nice room and staff. Everyone was nice and helpful. I felt very safe there staying there alone. They are also dog friendly. The walk around the pond outside was an added plus. Especially if you need to walk your dog after a long road trip. Plenty of restaurants and shops near by and I believe the price was reasonable for what it offered.

The lake location is excellent. Access to the nature path around the lake was great for our morning workouts. We had a family room that faced the front. It was very spacious and a fit our needs of 5 perfectly. Even if we had 6 it would still been plenty of space. The bar was great too! Highly recommend Stony Creek Hotel.

This was our first stay here and it was really great. The facility and rooms were clean and in good condition. The room, 2 queen beds and a sofa bed, was large and had plenty of space. The breakfast was among the best of any hotel we've stayed at with complimentary breakfast. It was different every morning we were there and it was very good each day. The pond and walking path outside is really nice and was great for watching various water fowl. It was incredibly busy while we were there but it was not horribly loud. A pretty big thunderstorm came through overnight and it was hardly noticeable. I would stay here again without question.

Great place if sleep is not important. We could hear the lobby noise and the sound of every door shutting from our room. Not much sleep unfortunately. This could be location related as we were given the room closest to the lobby on the second floor but suspect any room would hear the doors shut. Also had no body wash and the safety plugs while pro active and certainly safe required me to push so hard to get anything plugged in the prong almost broke.

As someone who has taken many cross-country trips, I've seen a more than most and am rarely as impressed as I was staying here! The front desk agents and housekeeping was phenomenal. The rooms were oh so quiet and comfortable. I loved getting to take a stroll outside in view of the lake, and I appreciated the extremely tasteful decor (coming from a home stager/stylist) that together created a much more relaxing experience that most hotels. I'd definitely hold a conference here someday!

Very informative tour of the home of the Truman's!! The inside is the same as it was when Mrs Truman passed in 1982. No picture taking allowed in the home itself. I was surprised to see one reviewer must have snuck in picture taking of their visit. T
