Stone House Farm - Featured Reviews (11)
This is one of the most charming and peaceful bed and breakfasts we ever stayed at—anywhere. To find it in the beautiful town of Amherst, with trails through meadows and woods right across the street, just adds to its delights. The website gives you an idea of the old-fashioned beauty of the suite you will enjoy and of the surrounding, magical gardens that Candi has created. Having our own sofa, easy chair, and a most comfortable bed and having our breakfast brought to us and served on our own dining table truly made this a home away from home. What made our stay even more special was that Candi is a delightful host and inspiring person, and her homemade vanilla yogurt and special pancakes were the best we ever tasted! She said that this small farm and home is her happy place. What a gift she offers us all by sharing it!
We had the pleasure of staying at Stone House Farm two nights a week for thirteen weeks during the fall semester while my husband worked with colleagues at UMass. Candi is a gracious, thoughtful and attentive host. She was very accommodating to our needs and requests. We stayed in the first floor suite, which was very clean with lovely décor. The pantry was well stocked with a coffee maker, microwave and mini fridge. There was always an assortment of coffees and teas along with candies and nuts. Each morning Candi prepared a delicious breakfast and served it to us on her botanical porch (you can also have it served in your suite). Her gardens are beautiful and cheerful with various places to sit and relax. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend Stone House Farm as the perfect place to stay.
We stayed in the 2-bedroom suite on the 2nd floor. Very comfortable and we enjoyed the little extras that were provided in the kitchenette - candies, chocolates, tea, coffee, cream, nuts, etc. The setting is gorgeous - birds, flowers, goats, chickens and koi in a beautiful little pond. Candace has worked hard on this property and it shows. The breakfasts were delicious - fresh eggs! The farm is on a fairly busy road but there was no traffic noise at night. We will definitely go back!
Wonderful accommodations, atmosphere, outdoor space, breakfast and hospitality!! Candy was a lovely host who made sure we felt comfortable, relaxed and taken care of. The amenities were just right and our girls trip was perfect! I’d recommend The Stone House Inn to anyone traveling to the Amherst area.
We stayed here for a special birthday weekend, because we had the fondest memories here. Candi is Host Extraordinary! The place was oh so charming, the breakfast 5 star rated and the garden was so beautiful! If you want a little bit of heaven on earth, the Stone House Farm is the place to visit! Book early because the rooms go fast!!
Too many positives to mention!!! Super comfortable room on a fairy tale piece of property. Beautiful hand-crafted breakfasts w/coffee and sweets in room. Candi, the owner, has a heart of gold and she is making the world a better place every day, beginning with the care of her guests. We're so happy to have discovered Candi and her precious spot. We'll definitely be going back!!!
We first visited Stone House Farm twelve years ago, for our tenth anniversary. It was such a nice experience that we chose to return for our twenty-fifth. And, perhaps we shouldn't have. In all fairness, it was a mixed experience. Candy is a passionate gardener, and the grounds of the inn are a beautiful sight to behold. My wife and I spent a pleasurable hour or more wandering the garden paths! The room itself was very nice, and Candy herself is a warm and friendly person. However, there were a few things we could not overlook. Candy serves breakfast personally, in the guest's room, and she had spoken of the eggs from her own chickens. (Those chickens themselves are a sight to behold, BTW.) When we got those same eggs, I found them totally tasteless, even with the addition of cheese. My wife found them inedible, and had to flush them! Still on the subject of breakfast, we were shocked that no juice of any kind was offered. We have been to a whole slew of B&B's over the years, and not a one has failed to offer, not just juice, but usually a choice of juice! And then there's the TV . The room comes with a TV and built-in DVD player, along with a heap of DVD's. We had great difficulty even in turning the TV ON, and then we had the experience of having not one, but two separate DVD's get about two-thirds through, and then inexplicably quit! Clearly, we did not simply stumble at random over two "defective" DVD's; rather, the problem was with the DVD player, and just as clearly this was not a problem that had just sprung up overnight!
We had a MAGICAL time at the Stone House Farm. My partner and I came to Western Mass to see a bluegrass show and decided to stay at Stone House because of the dazzling reviews. We had never stayed in a BnB before, but the reviews are all true! Whatever you picture a BnB should be, this place will exceed expectations. ||||We stayed in the downstairs room and couldn’t have been happier with how clean, cozy, and comfortable the space was. Pictures don’t do it justice! The room is spacious and decorated so tastefully. You can see the love and intention that Candi and her family have put into the upkeep of the BnB over the years. The bed, pillows, and linens were fantastic, lending us a perfect night’s sleep after a long day. Even in December, the porch was full of gorgeous flowers and christmas cacti in full bloom. The snowy landscape outside is so beautiful and perfect for snuggling up with a hot chocolate. If you like to ski, there are trails right across the street.||||Breakfast was delectable, starting with ripe persimmons and pomegranate, yogurt and granola, to incredible puff pancakes- all served right in the privacy of our room. Candi was so accommodating and is clearly passionate about the farm and making sure guests feel at home. We are so thankful to have had this experience and can’t wait to come back in the Spring to see the garden!
I got a mixed platter which I ate too fast to take a picture so I took a photo of the fried oreos which are amazing! They do get packed on weeknights which is stressful on the employees. I mean packed! But come on a regular day or earlier customer se

My daughter and niece highly recommend this place. Unfortunately, Monday was their resting day. We finally get to get this place on Tuesday. Itâs definitely worth the wait.

This is my favorite park in Massachusetts. Easy to access as it's not far from I-91 and the amherst/Springfield areas. The park itself is huge and has many trails. The White blazed Metacomet-Monadnock trail is the highlight as it traverses the entire
This area is gorgeous. We saw a great blue Heron (sorry the pic quality is not great), and it was HUGE.

An outstanding tribute to Eric Carle. The bookstore and library have an excellent array of moving/meaningful kids' books. The artistic displays, throughout the museum and in the bookstore, are incredible. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
