Very nice winery located not far from our hotel . Oldest winery in Missouri we learned on the tour . The cellar that they built and hand dug is very impressive . Truly amazing to build something like that before modern times The wine tasting area and gift shop area are both very nice and clean. I was honestly shocked though that the chocolate they sell is from Seattle. Should support local chocolate places as well. Definitely worth stopping in here if you're in Hermann.
We stumbled upon Stone Hill winery while creating our own wine trail in town! We loved it! The experience was like no other and the tasting rooms are set up in such a cool fashion it keeps you wanting to stay and chat about the good life while enjoying another splendorous sip!! The wines were so wonderful we brought two home and plan to back before fall for our second grab!! We highly recommend this as one of your main stops on the trail when going!! 20 stars all around!!!
We had a wonderful time at Stone Hill this weekend! The wine was great, as usual, and we enjoyed our tasting with Rachel. She knows her wines! She gave us an extra tasting on our flight, where we tried their Cream Sherry. I was amazed by how much I enjoyed it, and really appreciated the extra touch Rachel gave us. We hope to be back soon! I also adored the view outside the tasting room and the fall decor.
My new husband and I did the complimentary wine tour. Our tour guide was excellent. She gave us a great overview of the history of Hermann and Stone Hill wine. We even got to sample some Norton grapes. I also tried a slushy and we came home with a bottle of the Norton to enjoy later. Amazing wine and atmosphere. A must stop for anyone in the area.
Established in 1847 – well before there was a Napa Valley grape growing and wine making industry – Stone Hill grew at one point to be the second largest winery in the United States. Today, it remans a cornerstone of Hermann, Missouri’s thriving wine industry. Stone Hill features the largest series of arched underground cellars in North America, which are a testament to the passion of the original German winemakers who settled the area west of St. Louis. The tours are a must see for all visiting the winery - providing a wealth of intriguing information about winemaking and the Hermann area. More than 250,000 gallons of highly rated wine are produced annually at Stone Hill. Their most famous products tend to feature the Norton grape. Norton is Missouri’s official state grape; it makes for a robust, deeply colored, dry red wine with distinctive character flowing from a complex mix of fruit, spice and oak. I enjoy it most as an accompanyment to meals with red meat. It is often argued that Norton is possibly North America’s oldest cultivated grape. It certainly has impacted the production of a significant number of celebrated Missouri wines. The Stone Hill website boasts. “Our vineyards span seven sites surrounding the Hermann area. As Missouri’s largest grape grower, we are dedicated to growing our own grapes for our wines. In 1983, Hermann was honored as one of the nation’s first federally designated AVAs, or American Viticultural Areas. AVAs denote unique characteristics of an area that make it a special and distinct location to grow grapes and make wine.” A quick internet search will quickly produce a long list of grand wine industry awards for Stone Hill. It is rather impressive, but I don’t put a lot of stock in encouraging others to read about wine and grape growing awards. I recommend you go and savor the vino, experience the area’s rich history, and enjoy such a lush, green destination. It is worth the trip.
Fun and informative wine tours. Excellent wines that use a freezing process to reduce the tannins and improve the taste. All the wines I have tried here have been great. Helpful and friendly staff. Beautiful property with great views of the Hermann area. Multi-level parking lot.
Stone Hill is amazing! The venue is beautiful, the staff is amazing, and prices are great!!! We started with the cellar tour and then onto tasting. Once we ate dinner at the restaurant, we headed down for some quick portraits! Thank you for making a great experience!
Always a fun time in October going thru the winery and restaurant next door. Good wine, good food, good atmosphere

This is such a great place. The owner is someone you meet and immediately like. And then to make it even better, his coffee cocktails are amazing. I'm generally not a fan of Irish coffee, but Holy cow was it good. And I could drink the espresso marti
Great spot to grab your coffee needs for a start to explore Hermann Mo and all it has to offer. Make sure to try their Biscuits & Gravy. So good! We had stayed just a block behind it in the Brickhouse Inn. Perfect walking distance to get by fix. Snap

Very informative tour guide. It was a lovely experience. You tour a Piano maker's home/workshop and a wine maker's home/store. Not wheelchair accessible. I did ok with my cane with my husband's help.
We drove through Hermann today. Doxie Slush was the best choice we could have made for lunch. All of the slushies we tried were outstanding with fun garnishes to tell them apart! They offer flights so you donât have to choose just one. The food was
The best croissant breakfast sandwich Iâve ever had! The sausage patty was so thick it was the size of a cheeseburger! Can definitely be shared! Absolutely delish! Also had really good CRISPY hash browns!
I was there in late October, so the vibe may be different in the warmer seasons. Anyway, the dim lighting and live music made for a very intimate environment. Definitely recommend ordering an old fashioned. Drinks are a bit on the smaller side for th
