You wouldn't expect to find historic houses in the middle of a 95% water national park but here Stiltsville is! Each house has a unique history that's fascinating to learn about. If you don't have a personal boat, the Biscayne National Park Institute has a few tours that'll take you close to several of the houses
Took the Biscayne Bay Institute Heritage Cruise. Great experience. A lot of history was shared by the tour guides. A ride through Stiltsville was included in the tour.
Interesting enough, these houses weren’t abandoned, they were taken away from the owners by, you guessed it, the government. Because people can’t live free and where they want in this country, like over the water in Biscayne Bay, the government swooped in and changed the boundaries of the national park so they could kick the owners of these beautiful structures out. Welcome to America, now bend over!
I booked the kayak and boat tour through the Biscayne Institute and it was awesome. Highly recommended.
A really cool area to check out if you have access to a boat. It was really neat to see the houses that are still standing. We didn't really hang on in the area, we just passed through.
Such a beautiful place! To bad the government took it away from the people. You could tell the people that owned them loved them. Sad!
Beautiful landmark in the middle of the Bay. I visit this place several times a year as a charter and clients always are amazed at the structures and incredible view around. A must visit if in Miami.
Can only get to by boat. I thought it was going to be a great place for snorkeling, but not the day we went. The water wasn't clear enough to see much other than the ocean grass.
Beautiful place to relax, read a book or play a sport. Very well maintained. Restrooms on site. Very clean and stocked. Water fountain for those feeling a bit parched. Benches to sit or toss a blanket under a tree on the nice manicured grass. Lastly,
One of the best beaches near Miami. Perfect for kids and families to spend time together. Shallow waters and clean white sand beach areas are great for toddlers to safely play. The entrance fee to the state park manages the place from becoming super
We have dined at Rusty Pelican several times but most recently we had our wedding reception here one week ago.
We called six months ago and spoke with Gabby Koons, Restaurant Manager (sheâs also in charge of large events) and inquired about having
Fantastic marina and facilities. I would say this is hands down one of the only ramps where it is pressure cleaned monthly on low tide for less incidents and the staff is fantastic. (Follow the rules) and the staff is fantastic. Oh no rentals "fact"
Hands down, hats off, one of my favorite beaches. Parking is not the best if you go later in the day on the weekends. If you go during the week you have a better chance to always find parking. The beach is shallow, which is perfect for sitting in the
This is one of the most beautiful beaches weâve ever been to. Definitely top 3. Love all the palm trees and great beach area to walk on. Lots of activities to enjoy and of course seeing the peacocks was a highlight of the trip.
Best Shopping Center on Key Biscayne. Plenty of parking, free valet when busy, friendly people and great shopping and dining. The always helpful and friendly E Realty office and James Salas can be found at unit #49 at the Square.
