This is a simple place along U.S. Hwy 259 where you will find simple but good home cooking. We had a ham & cheese sandwich which tasted exactly like it supposed to. Fried catfish basket (3 pieces) was really, really good. Fillets were seasoned nicely and fried perfectly - crispy on the outside, fresh, flaky and flavourful on the inside. Hush puppies and sides were all just fine. Really enjoyed this lunch at Steven's Gap and would gladly do so again if I find myself back in Hochatown.
Stopped in after a hike at Beavers Bend park. This was right off the main road in Hochatown. Service was slow but greeted immediately and sat rather quickly for it being a Saturday late morning. Like others mentioned, it seems they’re short staffed but it’s a small mom & pop place so it wasn’t a huge bother. We ordered 2 pancakes, a western omelette, a loaded breakfast burrito, French toast, and the 3 egg breakfast. Potatoes were delicious as well as the French toast. My daughter wasn’t feeling the look of the burrito (the outside of the tortilla was very white and didn’t look cooked) but she said it was really tasty and ate the whole thing. My boyfriend didn’t talk - just ate! Haha! Pancakes are GIANT and soooo good! Def a place to check out while in the area.
Great breakfast place in town. Service was amazing! So far the best we’ve had while staying in Broken Bow. Ordered French toast (very tasty) and bacon (a little too crunchy for my liking, but didn’t matter). Our son had the kids popcorn shrimp—yummy, and husband had a sandwich (loved it as well). Overall, food was good but service was even better (best in town). I’d come back here in a heartbeat!
The food here was great, and the service was excellent. It's a small, diner-like atmosphere (not fussy, but clean and not super cramped like some smaller restaurants can be). My one complaint is that they didn't advertise that paying by credit card would involve an additional fee, so we were surprised at the register when we were asked to pay extra. We really liked the chicken fried steak on a bun, the bacon swiss chicken sandwich, the hummingbird cake, and the corn nuggets! We'll definitely be back because we have to try all of their pies!!
Love this place great food service was good could of used some music cause it was awkwardly quiet in there 😬 but other than that I highly recommend
Food was excellent - down-home diner type food that hit the spot for our family. I had the patty melt which was perfect, my wife had brunch and greatly enjoyed her meal, especially the cottage potatoes.
Their fried catfish was fried to perfection. The Cole slaw was fresh and delicious. The sweet tea was just brewed. The 3 strip dinner was more than I could eat. When I saw the table next to us get served one of the biggest pancakes I ever saw is when I found out they server breakfast all day. Oooo yeah!
It was good but not great. Catfish needed to be fried longer, Crispier. Hush puppies were better than onion rings. Cold slaw had onions in it, not a fan. Could have shared a plate for $2.00 extra. There is plenty of food. Waitress was nice and service good.
Really delicious food, we had breakfast here two days our of our three day stay locally! Waitresses are very kind and attentive. Very nice Family friendly place for good hot food.
Still trying to figure out the 4 star rating showing for this restaurant. The food was hot, perfectly cooked (over medium eggs are hard to come by!), service friendly and efficient. Food portions were perfect; but beware the âshort stackâ it can

Really fantastic street tacos. I had the barbacoa and my wife had the pork pastor. These were incredible tacos, salsa was very good. If you're hungry order them by the dozen as these are two bite tacos.
