The owner at the reception was very cheerful and made me feel bright. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the paving stones in the parking lot were beautiful. During my summer vacation, I visited several motels in California and Nevada, but I have never experienced such a clean and comfortable motel. The tree-lined streets in the surrounding area are also beautiful, and there is a Safeway nearby, which is very convenient. I highly recommend staying at this motel to everyone.
We booked this place for one night and for 110$ we expected something modest. Did not expect cigarette marks on the bathroom sink, a bucket under the sink, a bathroom with a sliding door and no upper wall, and almost no bedsheets. That's alright though. It's just one night right? Well... Hands down this place had the hardest and most uncomfortable mattress I've ever slept on. I'm not even picky. I'll sleep on the floor. But this mattress was soft enough not to be called solid but hard enough to make it the most unique combo of uncomfortable. Me and my partner barely slept. We live staying in and being lazy till checking out but this time we just showered at 5am, went home early so we can sleep at home.
Pros:|- convenient - literally at the airport, a 5-min drive to the other side. Restaurants and coffee literally across the street |- inexpensive |- safe |- clean|- functional||Cons:|- proprietor was lovely and welcoming |- instead of fixing the sink, they put a bucket under it to catch the drips, which happened every time I turned the sink on|- bathroom light didn’t work. Luckily it was sunny when I was showering so the sun did the work |- scratchy sheets|- blowing leaves in front of the door at 8am. A reasonable time for 9-5 workers to be awake, but if you’re from another time zone, unpleasant |- WiFi kinda-sorta worked. My phone was definitely faster when it WASN’T connected to it
One of the best hotels you can find in this area. Excellent service and friendly faces. Ed was an excellent host! The only issue we faced was that wifi wasn't working at that time.
As a single person here for one night, I am so happy that I landed at Sterling for a stay. I went to a Sharks vs Kraken game tonight at SAP from Seattle and am unfamiliar with the area. It’s my first time here but I wanted a room near the arena and freeways. I took the gamble and chose this hotel. It’s clean, the man working the desk was so friendly and complimentary, the room is clean, the parking lot is lit and spacious and kept. There’s zero complaints here. It’s quiet, too. There’s a ton of food and cafes literally across the street. I will be back to stay here again!
Would definitely come back again. Super clean, very spacious! We did arrive a bit late but Ed was very welcoming and super friendly! 10/10 recommend!!
This place is smoke and mirrors, it is all renovated and looks nice visually but don't be fooled. Once you step into your room, you'll start finding it is a mirage. My main complaint was that the room was super mega dusty, like being inside a tomb in ancient Egypt. If you are allergic, stay away!!!
This place is a perfect spot for us travelling through from British Columbia, Canada on a roadtrip with my 80 year old mother, my son, 8 year old grandson and my 3 year old Long hair Chihuahua! They are pet friendly and not may places are so this is perfect for us! Going to visit the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose, CA USA! The rooms are super clean, very spacious, free WIFI, air-con, cable TV, microwave & mini refrigerator and free parking! Eduardo or “ Ed “ is so friendly, warm and kind!Another plus is across the street from the Sterling Inn is RamenTaka which has amazing tasty dishes and Ramen soup!
