Stella's - Greek restaurant in Charleston - 114 St Philip St A, USA

Stella's had really great food. The restaurant atmosphere was so unique. Kind of like fine dining meets diner. We loved the chairs at the counter and that you get served right there alongside other guests. It was just a very unique vibe. They also have booths and tables as well. But of course the food has to be amazing too, and it was! There were so many dishes I want to go back and try. It is definitely worth checking out!

We came in for dinner not too hungry and looking for small bites, for which Stella is perfect. We ordered the grape leaves, spanakopita, the grilled eggplant dip and the beet salad with garlic along with a couple drinks (house red wine and Santorini). Overall all the food we ordered was somehow all leaning on the sour end of things, which got tiresome after the third dish. The drinks however were absolutely excellent and I definitely recommend getting the Santorini. For dessert we got the flourless chocolate cake - this is hands down the best thing on their menu and by far the best flourless cake I have ever had. The cherry compote pairing works so so well too. Service is attentive and helpful!

On our 1st visit to Charleston, we were looking for a great restaurant that could fit our dietary needs. I'm most plant based and my girlfriend is pescatarian. We were happy to see the diverse menu at Stella's that has options for all diets. Truly a beautifully thought out and well executed menu. I had a fabulous cocktail featuring a greek liquor I had never heard of. The food was truly spectacular! Every dish well balanced and complex flavors all over. Our server was energetic, knowledgeable and just had a great vibe (outgoing blond lady). The space is really cool with very unique double U shaped bars in the center. If our stay in Charleston was longer we would have planned another visit.

At Stella's you'll find authentic Greek cuisine in a cozy setting. We ordered the braised lamb shank and the kotopoulo, which were both delicious. The pasta that accompanied the lamb was cooked perfectly, and the portions are very generous. Be sure to take a bottle of their signature olive oil home with you! Parking is available at a deck about a block away.

I have been to Stella’s a few times and it never disappoints. The plates are always so delicious and they do a great job staying authentic to Greek cuisine. I couldn’t believe how big the pasta portions were. No one at our table could finish! My favorite dessert from here is the flourless chocolate torte. It’s unbeatable for me!

Great meal. Everything came out hot and fresh. Service was friendly although a little too fast, probably our fastest meal in Charleston. The cocktails were enjoyable and the atmosphere comfortable. Only real complaint was that our table for two was teeny-tiny so we were stacking items on top of each other. I’d suggest ordering one course at a time otherwise you’ll have to do the same. Overall we enjoyed the food and drink and would definitely go back.

On 12/8/23, my husband and I had a reservation at the bar and we were seated quickly. The waiter, Stephen Andrew S, had an attitude from the beginning. When we asked questions about the Greek appetizers, he seemed annoyed. Our food and drinks were served and we enjoyed the food, but the waiter never checked back to see if we were enjoying the food. We decided not to get an entree due to the waiter. Got our bill 42.00 plus tax, we left a 10.00 tip. When we got our credit card bill, the tip was changed to 40.00! I called on 1/14/24 and left a message about this charge. I still am waiting for a call. I have disputed the charge with my cc company.

Food is amazing and fresh, octopus and lamb is sensational. Atmosphere is modern yet authentic. Have to come to Stella's when in Charleston.
