Stella - American restaurant in Iowa City - 1006 Melrose Ave, USA

Nice yet casual, has shaded outdoor seating with good service and excellent burgers. I liked the local touches like putting references to Iowa counties on the menu. Stella’s feels very “local” and would be a great place to take family or friends visiting the area.

It was a nice day out so we sat outside and ate. It was very nice! Food and service was good. We had smoked salmon tacos, and beaconfield burger. (Bacon cheeseburger)

Our waitress Amber was the BEST! Her service was amazing. I had the best blue cheese burger EVER! The restaurant is very clean, it's dark in color so it was a nice not having blinding lights everywhere. Everyone we encountered was very friendly and it was genuine friendliness. The prices are decent, large amount of food and the cook sure does know how to make a burger. 10 million stars from my very very very picky eater who is 7. My family and I will definitely be going back for more.

Delicious!!! I got two of the tacos and the Stella burger; flavorful, filling, delicious. Pricier side for me, but definitely worth it! Also, wonderful service by everyone, and beautiful out door area!

Highly recommend by many, the atmosphere is awesome. Staff were friendly and met all of the basic requirements. $50 for two burgers (after tea, side salad and tip) is pretty steep. While this place is praised for the food, the burger was just ok. Ordered medium and came out well, and the beef wasn't flavorful and was on the dry side. The extras helped, but a burger is all about the beef. 6.5 out of 10 is generous. The ceaser salad was made up of what you usually don't serve, and parmesan was basically absent. 2 out of 10. Fries were delicious. I will return to give the place another shot, trying something other than burgers.

The first place in a LOOOONG time that there were multiple items we wanted to try! I had the jambalaya and it was better than what I had on Bourbon St I will say bring your wallet $22 a plate but you definitely have take home Definitely going back again to try some other dishes. The Cajun cheese curds were awesome!!! Didn’t really care for the gay pride flag- don’t like politics while I dine- just put that to the side please

Needed somewhere to stop for a quick bite before my appointment. Very cute spot with outdoor seating. Amber was my server and she was great. I'm not a fan of "in your face" staff and she was perfect. I had a "shades of orange" drink that was just what I needed and it was made perfect. Also I couldn't believe the food you get for the price and it will easily be 2 meals for me. Also it was probably the best Cuban sandwich I've ever had. Recommend Stella 10/10!

Stellas has an incredible menu of burgers and Cajun food. The burgers are creative combinations that don’t disappoint and the fries are simple but delicious. The service is class Midwest speedy and kind. I’ll be back.
