Was called to Mystic for a family emergency! Stayed across the street at the Hyatt Place! Was in the mood for a steak! Sat at the bar! Had a delightful dinner! Ordered the sirloin steak! Was cooked perfectly! Bartender was super nice! Came with a giant salad! That could have been the whole meal! They have five giant dinner salads to choose from! The wedge salad with blue cheese and bacon were delicious! Really nice dinner!
This place brings me a fair bit of nostalgia, but it is excellent in every way and I have nothing but good things to say. The bar area is quiet during the week but has all the warmth of a tavern from an older time. The food is quite nice, don't forget that this place has really good salads with entrées, I mean really good. They recommend medium rare on their steaks because they aren't savages and the sauces available are excellent.
Went here for dinner and while we didn't have a bad experience it didn't really stand out either. The food was average for a steakhouse. The portions were ok and the prices were decent for steak. Service was average. Definitely busy because it's in a tourist area. The atmosphere was like being in an old barn or mill but nothing fancy. We would go here again if we return to this area.
Just overall great rustic atmosphere with good service and great food. The main dining room has lots of things to look at.on the walls and feels very rustic. If that's not your style they also have a traditional dining room. All the waiters were very friendly and helpful. I often take out at this restaurant and the take out is as good as the food in house. If you are stopping by mystic, it is a must try!
Food was tasty though I wish the appetizers were a bit bigger for the cost. The drinks were quite flavorful as we're the steaks and burgers.
Location has a good feel to it and carries it's history well. Server was very attentive and checked in regularly
The first thing you notice when you walk in is the stench. It smelled really bad. The table was sticky and gross. The atmosphere is pretty dark and bleak. The food was disgusting. We started with a salad that had wet brown parts. The salad was old. The bread rolls were really good. The only thing that was good. We had the stuffed chicken and it was still pink on the inside. It tasted gross. The potato was ok. The dessert was some type of carmelized apple, grape and other stuff in a cup which was nothing special. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I pray the senior center folks from the group that I was with do not get sick. It was extremely disappointing.
Ribs did not taste good and were much more bone than meat, Crab Cakes were more red peppers, herbs and breading than Crab. The Salami in my salad wasn't the greatest either. Pretty disappointing for the price. We normally love the food. Stuffed mushrooms were phenomenal
Food was very good. Solid American fare. Nice bar area. Restaurant has been there 50 years and it shows. 70's dark but is clean. Otherwise a modern restaurant with several TVs in the bar area. Sit on that side or the dining room. Food and service make up for lack of modern decore.

This little place is very cozy. It's in an historic town that gets extremely busy in the summer. Our waitress was very friendly and efficient. There's beautiful artwork on the walls that are available for purchase. It has a bar but we sat at a tabl
