Staybridge Suites Detroit-Utica, an IHG Hotel - Featured Reviews (542)
Not sure about the service in general, as I was only there to visit with friends for a bit. The hotel & the rooms are awesome, though! I've never seen rooms set up like that, it was more like an apartment. Two bedrooms on opposite sides, with their own bathrooms. Full kitchen & living room. They decor & outside are super cute! Love the window views! I could honestly live there lol. I assumed it was very expensive, but was surprised to hear it wasn't much more than a single room elsewhere. Of course, it has a pool & workout room. Front desk staff was very friendly. Next time I stay at a hotel, I'll definitely be looking for a Staybridge Suite!
Although there was a HOST of issues with my stay, the major issue was really out of anyone's control, no need to go into detail about the issues because the staff here corrected everything!! Starting with Angela, she was my 3rd shift Hero!! I needed to transfer rooms due to being next to some very rowdy people, she arranged for this to happen before I even came down the next morning to apologize for being rude to her on the phone! I was in the middle of a wedding when i needed to come back and transfer my items to the new room. When I came back in between ceremony and reception, Tobias was there to help facilitate the transfer also. The real angels of this review are the two amazing housekeepers (I wish I would have taken their names, they deserve recognition!!) One of them saw that something was wrong as I had pulled my luggage cart to the new room but was now wheeling back downstairs. She stopped what she was doing to ask if I needed help, and I did!! So thankful for her. My new room was not ready for me but I needed to get back to reception. The ladies took my luggage from me and went on to clean the room immediately for me! They were so nice, kind and understanding of what was happening, they literally saved my day on Saturday!! Only reason rooms didn't get 5 stars is because of how thin the walls are and the disturbance I had to deal with my first night, otherwise rooms were great, beds were so soft felt like I was on a cloud!! Shout out to this entire crew though, it was a busy weekend for them they were over booked and yet still corrected a major issue for me. I love great customer service!!
If I could give the staff here 0 stars I would. Shantisha was working Memorial Day when we stayed for that night. We paid in cash, she never gave us a receipt and they proceeded to charge my boyfriend’s card the next day. Not only did we double pay, but when we talked to whom I assumed was the manager the next morning explaining the situation she told us we would get a refund issued. It never was. His bank accredited his refund and since the hotel never gave us a receipt, the bank ended up taking it back just a couple days ago 7/19/24. We made the mistake of trusting the staff. MAKE SURE THEY GIVE YOU A RECEIPT ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE PAYING IN CASH OR THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY. Your response is a lie, you did not call me, or leave any messages. There was a camera right in front of us and you chose to ignore our request to check the footage while we were checking out. You probably deleted that footage at this point. Y’all are thieves, straight up. Telling everyone this story now.
This hotel has went downhill. It use to be really nice when my family stayed here about 4 years ago but now, we ended up with a disgusting room. Black stuff on the walls, mold all on the sink and a nasty mildew smell in the bathroom. The air conditioner was extremely loud like it was getting ready to break. We were able to switch rooms but we still felt uneasy. Overall, we will not be staying here again.
Service was excellent from the guy that checked us in. 1st time here. Very stucked in the back. Past the sams club. Theirs a round about with townhouses. Going left and hotel on the right. Outside pool and hot tub. Rooms were nice. Couples things they could do for the studio suite. Side TV should come out from the wall for a better view. Coffee maker needs smaller filters. Bed was to soft for me. But thats ok. Kitchen: refrigerator (freezer makes its own ice. Just have to hit the switch to on.) Inside frig they have a pitcher. Do come with few forks, knifes, spoons. Coffee maker w/coffee, filters, sugar, creamer. Even a bag of popcorn. Plates, bowls, coffee cups, regular cups. Only thing that was upsetting was having kids running up and down the hall after 10/11pm. Yelling & screaming. Overall good for the money. Only stayed 1 night.
Rooms are clean and spacey, bathrooms are a little out dated but the beds are comfortable! The lobby is nice and big to relax and chatter without feeling too close to others. The back yard sitting space has a lot of tables to hangout at. The pool and hot tub are decent. Only downside is walls are little paper thin. Had someone stomping like crazy at 1:00am every night, then they would go to sleep. So not a bad stay overall, I come here for my significant other business trips.
I stopped by here to deliver a wedding gown to my client staying here to be close to her wedding venue. The lobby and reception area was decorating well and while it was closed as it was late evening, the area for breakfast looked very inviting. The room I saw was on the 3rd floor. Spacious and the in suite kitchen area has a full sized refrigerator. I will plan a staycation here soon! It's tucked away at the end of a neighborhood of condominiums. Close to all tge Hall Rd eateries.
Terrible rude front desk...wasn't able to book a room for a week because a woman kept hanging up and cussing, putting me on hold and lying to the other gentleman saying that the phone was having issues when the connection was just fine... unbelievable!!! If she doesn't want to work and help someone, find a new job. Glad that I wasn't able to smell the reservation, and have to meet these rude people in person. I'll go someplace that staff actually wants to work.

I had a great stay at this location. I arrived very late on a Friday morning (at 2:30 am) and Casey greeted me at the front desk and helped me find the perfect room. Rooms are clean and fresh -- not musty or lots of fragrance -- and quiet. Doors are
Our experience from start to finish was outstanding. We were greeted by Elvis (not Presley) at the desk, and he was fabulous as was the Monday to Friday woman who sets up the food for breakfast, which had a lovely assortment of food and beverages.
There's so much here so make sure you walk through at least 3 times. I saw more creatures each time. I love the hands-on and educational priorities. And, watching kids' faces when they get to hold a cool lizard or wear a big snake!! The staff are fri
Traffic is is a bear. This is a well kept beautiful park next to the water. We came and there was a live show, (Nina and the buffalo riders. Go see her!). There's a small trail and seating next to the river. The landscaping is pretty too. I think
