Staybridge Suites Ames, an IHG Hotel - Hotel in Ames - 2111 Isaac Newton Dr, USA

This hotel was overall amazing. My only complaint is that when checking in we had to wait a long time for someone to show up at the front desk, and there was no bell to ring or anything. But other than that I was very pleased with everything else. The room was very clean & nice, the pool looked really nice, the breakfast was one of the BEST hotel breakfasts Ive ever had- lots of fresh fruit and variety of toppings for the waffles. No bugs anywhere- loved that. I will certainly stay here again.

We arrived and were quickly greeted by the desk clerk, who informed us that, due to overbooking of the type of room we reserved, they were upgrading our room for free. The room we got was a beautiful two-bedroom King / Double Queen suite with a kitchenette. Big win! Everything in the room felt designed to be both modern and comforting. It was the perfect fit for our traveling family of five. The free breakfast buffet was a step up from the usual continental breakfast. Overall, I highly recommend staying at the Staybridge Suites in Ames.

The halls and elevator really need to be cleaned better. The elevator had streaks from some soapy liquid. Trying mixing rubbing alcohol and little water into a spray bottle to clean the stainless steal. The floor needs to be moped. Use less detergent in mix. Otherwise The Front desk was great. Breakfast was delicious and parking was plenty.

The hotel is new so it is very nice & clean! The staff are so friendly, love how clean they keep the hotel lots of perks! Complimentary laundry, socials, & parking. The rooms seem like apartments doesn’t even feel like a hotel definitely recommend this place. Also near target Walmart chick fil a & many other stores.

There was a great outdoor area with a fire pit and comfortable seating. There was a variety of breakfast choices. The rooms were nice and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. It was also very pet friendly. The pool area was nice. Overall, a great place to stay!

Stayed here 4/9 and it was a nightmare! I live only the next town over but my house was getting renovations and contractors would be over. I have a 1 year old son that can not be around all the dirt that gets kicked up with renovations so decided to book a hotel to keep him safe along with my 12 year old daughter. I called to ask questions before booking as I know this place is new. I was needing a pack and play or roll away crib and wanted to know if I could have a late check out. I was told all of these things would be perfectly fine. I was told I could check out by 1pm. Perfect I said because everything will be done by then. Upon checking in I asked again about the pack and play or roll away. The guy at the front desk said he didn't think they had any but would double check.. ok I thought to myself he must be mistaken. We then went to our room and I waited patiently to hear back from him. From here things got progressively worse. The streaming app would not work.. wouldn't even load for a matter of fact. When asked about it I'm told idk what's up with it I don't work with the app/ don't know. Wow way to look into things. This is also when I was informed there would be no pack and play. So now I have nowhere SAFE for my son to sleep and no entertainment for my two KIDS. Horrible start. We were also missing a whole curtain from the living room area leaving us exposed with no privacy feeling like we had to hid in our bedrooms at night. There were several spots in the room too that were put together Horrible and already falling apart. My son nearly cut his foot on tile that was coming up by the dishwasher. One shower had hot water and the other one never came on despite me leaving it run forever. One of the windows was missing a screen and the house phone did not work when we got there leaving me to make calls on my cell phone. Things just kept getting worse and worse. To top it off I was called around 11:15 asking why I wasn't out yet and when I would be out! What?! I had already made it clear and it was agreed I could have a late check out at 1pm!! When I told this to the person she was rude and said well did you ask upon checking in? No I didn't because we discussed this over the phone when I booked!! So they obviously do not know how to leave notes in the computer. Beware! Upon leaving I spoke with the person in charge of sales as there was no manager and let her know how un happy I was. I was actually livid. I was offered points. I looked this morning and it's not even enough to do anything with so basically I got next to nothing for a crappy unsafe stay. I never have experienced this service from this brand. Not family friendly, definitely not baby friendly, not helpful, rude, and un safe. Definitely on the edge of switching brands due to this one incident. Pictures attached are my one year old sleeping on the floor like an animal, the missing curtain, the missing screen, and also a random soda my son found under a bed that was not ours. Oh and attached is an error message you will likely get if you stay anytime soon and try ro stream. It was brought up upon check out that this has been an issue so it's not user error on my part. Do not bring your family here let alone baby. This is what 250 bucks MAY get you if you stay here. Go elsewhere if staying in Ames. There's plenty of options that are way better. EDIT TO MY REVIEW TO RESPONSE.. #1 Yes I was given points I mentioned that in my review. The points are worthless as you guys gave very few to even do anything with. #2 I never once asked for the pack and play to be set up for me?? I'm not sure where that is coming from. Your staff said you didn't have any period so let's get that straight. And if ypu do have them what's the reason one was not JUST left in the room upon my request when booking? #3 yes I had a room with many beds.. a two bedroom? Are you implying I let a 1 year old sleep on a bed alone and roll off? Wow great service and great response. Definitely will not be back. Yall need to get it together. Very ignorant response in my opinion.

Great place to stay during a business trip, able to make your own food in the spacious rooms that include a kitchen, also love the evening social they provide, where you can interact with new people. Not only that but very welcoming, warming and I definitely will be back.

Pros: comfortable beds, newer towels, big room, ice maker in freezer worked, and friendly people. Cons: hardly any water pressure, really wanted to watch 2nba games last night, but for some reason TNT wasn't working, along with Fox or ABC. Asked for a quieter room at check in, possibly on the 4th floor, none available. Put in a hall on the 1st floor in between two exits. Rooms' door slams closed hard that you can easily hear from your bed especially in a not carpeted hall.
