STATION - American restaurant in Pittsburgh - 4744 Liberty Ave, USA

We had our wedding reception at Station and it was absolutely spectacular! Kristina was so lovely to work with and they made the whole process easy and straight forward. We were able to rent out the entire restaurant for evening, which included the dining room and the bar area. The restaurant itself was beautiful so we didn't even need decorations; between the string lights and the gorgeous wood bar they had the ambience totally covered. The cocktails were a HUGE hit! I was a big fan of the featured mocktail. And the food itself was incredibly delicious! Each person got to choose from 3 options of appetizer, entree, and dessert. Complements to the chefs, because all of my choices were excellent, particularly the braised short rib and popcorn panna cotta. We cannot thank the staff enough for such a wonderful evening. The service was incredible and every member of the staff was so warm and helpful. Station is a great place to host a party or event and we highly recommend them! Great food with top-notch service! The tagliatelle was really really good with smoky pork and eggs, but might be better with less butter. Roasted chicken was tender and juicy, and lavender pound cake tastes moist and dense, and the pineapple chunks just adds that icing on cake literally.

Had dinner here as a team offsite. Ambience is great when it’s dark outside. Chicken liver mousse is great, though the pairing pretzel chip (I assume that’s what it is) is a bit hard on the teeth and not crispy enough and could use less salt flakes sprinkled on the surface. The texture of the octopus is fine — great balance between chewiness and softness. I was able to taste a bit of licorice, which is somewhat surprising, but overall still too salty and sour — great for drinking some wine with though. Had swordfish as my entree. Texture is very lean but that’s probably what you’re looking for in fish like that. Gnocchi tastes creamy, rich, and charred to just the right degree, but more like a ball of potato mash than pasta — wouldn’t say it’s my favorite gnocchi. Salad on top and roasted fennel are regular. Overall, there’s a gourmet attempt of their food which I like and I would definitely recommend this place for a good hearted gathering with family, friends, or colleagues.

One of my favorite places to eat in Pittsburgh. A happy union of professional but unpretentious, and food that's classic but surprising. The pastas in particular stand out in that regard. The staff is friendly and accommodating, and i would (and have) suggested this as one of the restaurants elevating Bloomfield.

We had a terrible experience at Station. We were there to celebrate a friends birthday and the service was lacking. We got there at 7pm - we had reservations. It was 830 before someone even took our food order. I think we got our food at around 9:30, after having to prompt them for it. The birthday girls entree didn’t come, appetizers were missing. No refills on water or drinks. To top it all the food was not great. The chicken and gnocchi was too salty, as was the roasted squash salad. A few people got the pork shank tagliatelle which they did enjoy. Overall with the poor service and very average food, this is not a restaurant we’d go to again.

Disappointed at our experience here, and while they did make it right in the end, I would suggest to others just to not go. We had a reservation but they asked us to sit at the bar. We were told we'd be fine waiting for a table, and when we were finally brought back to the dining room about 2/3rds of the tables were empty anyways. Our drinks took forever and we had to remind the server we ordered them after seeing others get theirs ahead of ours. My partner asked for no egg on her pasta as she's super disliking of eggs but it came with it anyways - not the biggest deal. Here's where things get weird. I ordered a swordfish entree with pasta and eggplant sides, but when it came out it was with clams and couscous. I said I didn't like clams (I despise clams), and had I known that I wouldn't have ordered it. I also have somewhat strict medical dietary requirements I need to follow that this didn't align with. The server said they decided to switch things out for restaurant week - but he never mentioned that before I ordered, then acted like I should just accept it. Made no offer to switch, so I sent it back and just ate some of my partners meal. Then my meal was supposed to come with dessert but he was ready to skip that part and just bring us the check. Then here's the rub - they charged us for the whole thing. That would be like if I ordered something - they were out of it and just brought me something else without asking me - and then when I don't want it they still expect me to pay. What if I was allergic to shellfish? After talking to the manager she agreed to take that off the check but the whole experience was weird, and even the manager didn't think it was weird they changed the items out without reprinting the menu or telling the person ordering about it. We have SO many amazing choices in Pittsburgh. F this place.

Food was great, but very overpriced. The entree section was entirely $40+. The Pasta/Salad section was $30+. Any review listing "$$" is simply inaccurate. They had two front-of-house employees handling both rooms of the entire place. For those prices, they should be able to pay another FOH staffer to keep things moving. Atmosphere was ok, but not worthy of $97 out-the-door for two pastas and one cocktail. They had a large industrial fan blowing and the air was kinda stuffy; not sure what was happening there.

Amazing food and drinks!! Perfect for a private event. Had my wedding rehearsal dinner here. Everyone loved it!! Coordinating with Kristina was a breeze, and I’d recommend 10000%!
