Thomas Thompson & Sally Mazzarella Community Park has a whole lot to offer for outdoor recreational activities. Playground for children, basketball court, tennis courts, baseball field, soccer field. There is also a community garden to enjoy. The Rhinebeck pool is also right here for summer swimming. For those that enjoy nature walks, this is the perfect place and the trails are smooth and well maintained. There are bathrooms at the Trailhead Pavillion.
This is a nice easy set of trails, flat or gentle hills. The forest and grassland areas are quite nice. For the most part, the trails are well maintained, although I do think the trail markings/signage could be clearer. I started at the kiosk trail head and the first turnoff for the trail can be easy to miss(in fact, I did.) The initial part of the trail is nice dark gravel, but it veers into a field where the trail is just a mown path and the sign for the turnoff is an unassuming post with orange and green squares on it tucked back into the growth. Also at one point off the blue loop, I ended up in a strange area with farm equipment with a sign posted about private property. So I turned back to the loop. I never even saw how to get to the white or red trails. So what I saw was nice but I’d like to come back and try to find what I missed. Maybe I’m just hopelessly directionally challenged. I did take a picture of the map at the trailhead but still found parts confusing. I saw a fox following the paths several times, which was pretty exciting:) There was a pool, playground and community garden but I didn’t really check those out.
Open space to walk around a couple of trails connect
Great place for gatherings, summer swims at the pool, playing with the kids at the large playgrounds... Tennis and trails are also available. As of Sept 2018, there is work being done at the local ballfield. Easy access to Rhinebeck Village certainly helps, and the local library is nearby and is also a draw (especially for a dad to a 4 year old like me).
Love the pool and playground/park
Nice long walking trails around rolling fields, beach volleyball, tennis, toddler playground, and town pool. All clean and well maintained.
Nice playgrounds, multiple nature trails, lots of parking open until 10pm which is nice. The discgolf course is there and the baskets are new and very nice. The course could use some tee boxes and navigation signs or markers. More trash cans could help as well. I would like to volunteer help on a weekend to do anything to help out the course. It could be real nice.
Awesome park for littles . Always a wonderful time .
This place is my idea of paradise. Forests are my spirit home and this one was amazing. I was visiting from the UK and really loved it. With 2 small nephews we didn't walk a full trail but I still had plenty of wilderness to enjoy and a desire to com
Best pizza in town! So good that I had to order the special clam pizza plus my go to margherita. The clam pizza was perfectly cooked and tasted great, while the margherita was wonderful as per usual.
Dropped in for an early dinner while passing through Rheinbeck. The dining area is on the small side hour, but due to the hour we found a place to sit after placing our order with the cordial counter person. I had two standard dogs and regular fries.
I ordered by slice, the staff warmed it up for me. The bottom was crispy and the dough is chewy. I guess it would taste so good if I ordered the whole pizza freshly made. Definitely I will go back again.
I really liked the decor of this place, and I was happy to have Mexican food again because that's mostly what I eat here at home in Houston. The food was delicious and they give you plenty, and although it's a little bit pricey, it makes sense for th
Had a delightful lunch in the Tavern. The menu selection is a good mix of their regular dishes plus some excellent seasonal specials. The beer menu is consistently good and I enjoyed a tasty IPA from Hudson Valley. Service was terrific and ambiance i
