Starlite - Gastropub in San Diego - 3175 India St, USA

I definitely love the ambience. I ordered "The Soup" and "The Steak". "The Soup" was very delicious, a must have. "The Steak" was ok but still good. Also, good happy hour selections.

We were looking forward to our first experience at Starlite for NYE. We heard good things and learned it would be the last night before a big renovation so we got 11:15pm reservations for a table. When we arrived, a man at the front said our table wasn’t ready and that we could wait at the high tops along the side of the restaurant. When we finally got the bartender’s attention to order drinks, we were shocked at the bartender’s rude demeanor and how terrible the $15 drinks tasted. The pomegranate cocktails were tart and bitter, the old fashioned’s were not at all balanced, and the dirty martini was straight vodka in a glass with no olives or juice. When we asked about the martini, the bartender got angry and slammed down a shot glass with maybe a tablespoon of olive juice in it and said we didn’t order what we ordered. After 30 minutes we asked for an update on our table and they responded that the people at our table weren’t leaving and there’s nothing they could do. We stayed standing 15 more minutes to make it to midnight, determined to make the best of the situation but couldn’t even choke down our drinks and left just after midnight and headed to our reliable bar down the street (Aero) where drinks are half the price, always quality, and made by the kindest bartenders in the city. I hope the remodel includes staff who care about their customers and their craft in 2024.

We had an amazing date night! Easy to find parking, service was wonderful, drinks and food came quickly - we were in and out within an hour. I know it’s basic but the burger here is fantastic!!! So flavorful and didn’t leave me feeling sluggish. It’s a small place but the Ambience is beautiful, very dimly lit and relaxing. I literally have no complaints.

Great little spot. Wonderful generous mule. Scotch egg was perfectly cooked. Pan friend chicken had a great crunchy skin. Kale Cesar was not to miss as well. Way to go the extra mile with the anchovies. Atmosphere is straight up old school san diego and not to be missed. Same high end service normally found at downtown bars. Swing by and have a fee drinks and bite to eat you won't be disappointed.

Closer to bar/night club vibes (so, dark and loud) but the food was out of this world. Took a group from work and everyone was very happy with their meals. The ice cream sandwich dessert was a huge hit

The Starlite burger was an INCREDIBLE find at 10PM when we were looking for a late dinner & drink option in SD. They had a reverse happy hour too with drink specials late at night! Would highly recommend and I’ll be back next time I’m in town

Phenomenal experience. I can not wait to go back. The food was too die for but what was even better was the service at bar.Our bartender was one of the best I’ve ever had. I can not wait to go back. The burger that everyone raves about is just. The sausage is omg amazing. The Judori chicken wings are WOW. I loved the Mac and cheese and side of fries. The inside of this place is so lovely. The chandelier is a perfect centerpiece. We also enjoyed the ice cream sando. I’LL TAKE 30 of these!

I like the aesthetic here. The exterior is very mid century and I like the dark interior with the lights over the bar. I dont really understand the chairs though, they look like patio furniture and don't really match. Anyway, the drinks were excellent, especially Drifters Gold. We got the salami and cheese board with added bone marrow. I'm really into their pickled vegetables. Very tasty. We also tried the stone fruit salad and mac and cheese both were decent. Service was attentive. I'd definitely come back to try some other cocktails at the bar.
