Starlight Plantation - Bed & breakfast in Natchitoches - 2228 LA-494, USA

Such an awesome B&B. It's right on Cane River Lake and it makes for some beautiful sunsets and sunrises from the deck. It is also very quiet and peaceful and it's not too far from the town, where you can find so many amazing and fun things to do. There are a bunch of great restaurants too. The hostess, Susan is so nice and a wonderful person. My wife and I have stayed here several times before and we will keep coming back.

Starlight Plantation was everything I imagined it would be and more. The cedar suite was perfect with a beautiful view overlooking the river. Mrs. Susan's hospitality was by far the best I have ever experienced. I really loved how she would visit for a few minutes and then leave you to do your own thing. She always made sure that we had everything we needed. As a pet lover I was really happy to visit with Hank (the neighbors dog that visits at times), the cats, and the donkeys. None of the animals were ever in our way and they were never a nuisance. It was actually quite refreshing sitting on the porch looking at the river and playing with the animals. The breakfast was amazing definitely no complaints there. The hot tub for the cedar suite was so relaxing and it is sunken into the porch which is aesthetically pleasing. All in all I feel I made the perfect decision on making this our first getaway destination. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars.

This is by far the best B&B I have ever had the pleasure to stay! Four of us traveled for a quick girl trip and could not have picked a better place. The view of the river was lovely and very peaceful, especially at night. We felt quite at home and there was plenty of room to relax and enjoy our stay. We were pleasantly surprised by the fantastic home cooked breakfast we received each morning. The owner, Susan, was so accommodating and really made sure we had everything that we needed. I would recommend this B&B to anyone visiting the area. We will definitely be going back one day.

Comfort and a fantastic river view combine to make this B&B a place not to be missed! Each of the two rooms have their own hot tub on the wrap around porch. I think we spent three hours per night just relaxing and enjoying the view. We rented the Cedar Suite and for two friends traveling together or a small family it is perfect. One bedroom is tucked into a recessed corner in the living room and the other has a door that can be closed. There is a shared bathroom with two doors so at night, the person in the room that can be closed can enter without waking the person in the living room suite. Breakfast was delicious and fresh! Susan provided the perfect amount of attention and advice. We would definitely stay here again. I can't say enough about that beautiful porch!!! It's made for relaxing!!

My partner and I stayed here to celebrate our anniversary and his birthday and it was FANTASTIC. The owner is so accommodating. We had some travel delays and she was understanding and left instruction on how to get in after hours. Had the lights on for us. ||I was a little wary because it looks a little dated online. The website needs to update its photos so don’t beware. The place was fantastic. The bed was so comfy and the bathroom is huge. The hot tub was clean and fantastic and the breakfast was SUPER GOOD. ||The area itself if beautiful. A real gem full of historical sights to see! |

We love the Starlight Plantation and Natchitotches. We try to go for a few days every year. It is located about ten minutes east of town on the north shore of Cane River Lake. The expansive covered deck overlooks the lake and is wonderful, quiet place to watch wildlife or enjoy a book and glass of wine. We spend hours on it every trip. There are two suites but we have only stayed in the west one so can't comment on the other. The west suite has a common bed, television and seating area. There is a small adjoining bedroom with a shared Jack and Jill bath.||There is a huge, very well maintained hot tub set into the deck just outside the west suite. At least some of our party always take advantage of it.||There is a very nice glass enclosed dining area between the two suites. A delightful home cooked breakfast is served here each morning. The owner tries to be accomodating with the serving times. This area is also stocked with tea, soft drinks, games, drinking glasses etc. There is a communal fridge available here for storage of your own adult beverages. Coffee is served on the deck every morning well before breakfast.||Be forewarned, the owner's friendly cat and frequently the neighbor's cat wander and lounge on the deck at odd times. If you aren't ok with this, you had better stay at the hotel downtown. My wife loves the cats!||This place is not new and is a little worn around the edges. If you are looking shiny tile and chrome, seek elsewhere. I think that it fits perfectly with the Lousiana Bayou theme. It is clean and everything works.||The owner is a wealth of local information and will share as much of her time and knowledge with you as you would like. On the other hand you will be left in almost complete privacy if that is your desire.

We had a great time at this piecefull, cosy and sweet place at the river bank. We for sure plan to come back as it will be hard to find better choice for romantic weekend stay in the surrounding area. The rooms are clean and decorated with fine taste and focus on detail and visitors comfort. We had our own privacy. We got coffee in the morning served at porch in front our apartment, the breakfast was served based on our time request and was delicious.It was overall a magical experience. Thank you!

We just spent memorial weekend in natchitoches at the Starlight plantation. To be honest it was not my first choice when making our reservations but the others were already booked. Guess it was meant to be because we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found the location to be relaxing and peaceful. The owner was|Helpful but not intrusive. We were about 10-15 minutes from the historic downtown area. We enjoyed sitting on the deck or looking out our windows at the calm of the cane river! There are two times for breakfast at 8:30 and 9:30 which allows for each guest to have their own space while eating. Sometime before breakfast the owner would place a coffee tray outside our door to enjoy before breakfast. She gave good suggestions for dinner and seemed|knowledgable of the highlights of the town. Don't have any complaints about our stay and|Thoroughly enjoyed our visit! |
