Starlight Boutique Hotel & Private Resort - Bed & breakfast in Pioneertown - 3569 Calmada Rd, USA

I loved my stay here! Was in town for a Cody Jinks show and booked a room at Starlight. The hosts were lovely and the property was clean and super unique. Off the beaten path for sure, but such lovely grounds I did NOT want to leave the next day. Looking forward to a reason to stay here again.

I stayed in the Pioneertown area over NYE 2023-24 and was happy with the Starlight. Although it wasn't the easiest place to find, due its being close to the end of an unpaved desert road, I was warmly greeted and looked after. The French couple who run the place were charming and the place was immaculately clean. The bed was comfortable and the silence of the desert was welcome. The breakfasts were ample and tasty. In my view the Starlight was a "find," and I'd recommend it to any adult. I don't know if kids would be very happy there, but I guess that would be a function of how adaptable the kids are!

The Starlight is run by a lovely, friendly couple from France who unfortunately seem to have lost whatever enthusiasm they may have at one time had for running a hotel. |Most disappointing: when we booked, we were told that breakfast was included, and in the guestbook located at the entrance to the hotel, it states that breakfast is included, ‘free.’ However, when we inquired, we were told that continental breakfast was $23 per person. There wasn’t even coffee available, not in the room and not in the public area. This was particularly annoying because the closest place to get coffee was twenty minutes out of our way. |The pool was full of leaves and the hot tub was closed, and no one offered to open it for us. There was no refrigerator in the room and as a result we had to throw out some food we’d been carrying in a cooler. There was one chair in the room and it was broken.|All in all, given that we paid $418.50 before tax, the Starlight did not live up to our expectations.

This is just a beautiful|Place with wonderful hosts that couldn’t have been any more caring and interested in making sure we had a great time ||The place is so lovely ||I wish I could give it 10 out of 5 ||We will definitely be back and on a fr more regular basis

We had a bad experience: we were looking for a clam hotel but the place was very noisy (others guests)||Rooms were not as clean as expected and we had no election than having diners on site (VERY expensive for an average experience)||||BTW: Back home, I googled the " owner" and discovered he was a known crook!

What a beautiful, peaceful, magical oasis in the desert! The property itself is stunning. Majestic views. Interesting outdoor art installations. Hiking close by. Pool and hot tub to enjoy. You can see all the stars at night because there is no light pollution. The owner was so thoughtful and a generous host. We had booked for one night but ended up staying two. I had the most restful sleep there in months. It was divine! I highly recommend this desert haven!

We had no clue where would we be landing... We arrived right when sunset was down... the light was surreal... As soon as we made a left to quite the road, the journey begun! Coyotes all over the place, rabbits and even a Bob Cat welcomed us... We thought for a second we were lost and there it is: STARTLIGHT BOUTIQUE HOTEL in the middle of nowhere! Chris and Benoît were waiting for us. The sweetest French couple... Later we will know about their amazing stories. We came here as a complete birthday surprise for my wife, my brother and future sister in law. We got the master bedroom with the jacuzzi inside and an absolute stunning shower that my 8 yo son called the GROTTO! The view in the morning was insane... 360º all around, breakfast was ready... we could not wait for adventures to start. Chris planned our day, we brought our ebike... to go all the way to PIONEERTOWN and visit the main street from the wild wild west! A couple shots at the saloon and came back right in time for a Jacuzzi for sunset! Benoit is master jedi at "sabrer le Champagne" so is Chris! We got a full celebration with cork flying in da house just like Napoleon used to do it! So yeaaaah... you can plan your stay and go blind... I won't spoil the show at night... everything that needed to be said was in the title of our review! We will be back and will bring more guests to see their reaction... What a surprise in the desert! We were going to a show at Papi & Harriet’s and had booked the Starlight nearby. We went early to checkin and thought we were lost. Driving around, bit of a dirt road, seemingly middle of nowhere. And then, voila! This amazing house, with views to die for, all glammed out in glitter and sparkles. We were upgraded to the master bedroom and it was out of a movie set. We were accommodated with everything we needed - snacks, jacuzzi, starry skies, croissants and fruit and espresso for breakfast. Gem of a find.
