Stardust Motel - Motel in North Stonington - 544 Providence-New London Turnpike, USA

The staff is excellent very nice people! They take care of the property with some nice flowers to look at. A fire pit and grills with some outdoor seating. Quiet and tucked away. Decently clean rooms and the price is good. Close to Foxwoods and not far from the beaches.

I take no pleasure in giving less than great reviews, these are just my honest opinions and, to be fair, I'm a bit of an insomniac and sleep poorly anywhere that isn't perfectly dark, free of outside noise and with dry cool temperature. It has been a very damp and humid summer and this was reflected in the room. Fortunately the a/c had a "dry" function. Unfortunately it hadn't been on before we got there. It took around a whole day to get the room "dry" enough not to feel sticky. The motel is far enough away from the highway that you can't hear it... Unfortunately the road near the motel is evidently treated like a highway, including big rig brake noise and such at all hours. Not ideal. The bed was surprisingly comfy but the pillows have some plastic coating underneath that crinkles and gets hot and is thoroughly unenjoyable... You can hear children and other noises from other rooms. Not uncommon but not great. The compressor on the mini fridge is pretty loud. Couldn't unplug it cause it had too much ice in the freeze box and didn't want to deal with it. The door lock decided to not let us in one night. I had feared we'd been erroneously unhoused when we had another day there, but it was just a fluke I guess. On site host was gracious and happy to fix the issue, only took a moment. All in all it was 7 minutes from our friends place we couldn't stay at for reasons and met our needs of being a place to sleep this particular trip. I would recommend it on an "as needed basis". The staff, who seemed like they all may have been family/owners, were very gracious and every interaction with them was great. If I came back I'd probably bring my own pillow and turn my white noise maker up higher than normal.

We have stayed in this hotel many times over the years. This time we arrived for our reservations made months ago. We were greeted by hostile people we did not recognize, who said they have no vacancy. While I searched for my reservation no. they threatened to call the police! We are stuck after midnight with no place to stay. This experience is outrageous! This business is very unprofessional and inhumane in their treatment of customers. This motel.should not stay in business.

The reviews are right. STAY ANYWHERE BUT HERE. Rooms smell like smoke and intense stench of moth balls. I slept on my sweatshirt and wrapped in my own blanket because this place skeeved me. Floor is disgusting, I wore my sandals while walking around. Paper thin, worn out towels. Only 2 provided. The furniture is old, worn, dirty and dated. Horrible mattress, I sunk into it, hardly slept. I hightailed it outta there as soon as it was daylight. Undesirable hanging around, made me uneasy. Don't let the pictures fool you. There is no coffee, no beautiful Adirondack chairs, no flowers and no lights on the pergola. Friggin GROSS. DO NOT STAY HERE!

This motel is just off the Interstate 95. Older motel but they have updated the room I stayed in. Proprietor was very nice.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoy our stays at Stardust Motel! The fire pit is a wonderful addition. There is an actual lawn which most motels/hotels don't have. Carmine was able to swing a golf club. We are repeat guests. The owners are very accommodating and helpful and friendly and polite. We have had such good times at Stardust Motel that we come as often as we can! It's close to Westerly, Groton, Mystic and of course Jake's Place which has great breakfast and pleasant staff...

We enjoyed our stay. We drove 400 miles. All you want is a clean room and a comfortable bed. We got both. This a cute place. There is a fire pit so bring the smores. It was quiet. And the price is right.

I booked a one night stay at Stardust because of its decent ratings, affordability and convenient location near Foxwoods Casino (where we saw a comedy show). When we came back late at night, after the show, I was disappointed to discover our room's shabby furnishings, sagging soft mattress, and weak shower pressure but accepted these negatives because I knew it was a barebones motel. However, I was horrified by the dirtiness of our room. There were brown stains on the window curtains and it didn't even look like the bathroom had been cleaned from the last occupant's stay. There were stray dark hairs in the shower, dried soap scum on the walls, and my bath towel had large (old) brown stains on it! It was stuffy in the room but we had to turn off the air conditioning because a stale smell was coming out of it. We couldn't open the windows for fresh air because there were no screens on them and we didn't want bugs flying in. We had no idea what the Wifi password was and it was too late at night to ask the front office about it (and complain about the state of our bathroom). The only redeeming quality of our room was that the bed sheets looked clean. I'm not looking to put this place out of business - the owners were friendly enough - but the Stardust Motel is definitely not worth the high ratings that it gets and I wanted to warn others that you will have to lower your cleanliness standards big time if staying at this place.
