Stardust Lodge - Featured Reviews (604)
It was my mistake that I stayed in South Lake Tahoe in peak summer season, I did not realize what a party/casino town it is, and that the lake is gated off. You have to pay to go to the lake during the day, at night it's locked up - no moonlight stroll on the beach, no sunset walk to dip your toes in the water.||We payed top dollar to stay at the Stardust, and it's just not a top dollar place. If I had payed the off season prices I'd be much happier. But paying over $300 a night (after taxes and fees) for a room without air conditioning, sleeping on a pull out sofa bed with an inflatable mattress, made me regretful. ||Some of the things that drew me there just had corners cut too far. There's coffee in the morning, but only powered creamer. The "breakfast" is very minimal and of the cheapest quality. The free laundry only had a few time slots open a day, and you had to sign up ahead of time. The earliest laundry time is 10am for some reason, so you can't do laundry before you check out. I read about cookies but didn't see any (but there was popcorn). The games and events were one bingo session the day we arrived, and nothing the next day (they don't have any on Sundays, despite advertising that they take place 7 days a week). Again - if I was paying $150 this would be fine, but for $300+ I want some milk or half and half for my morning coffee. ||The location is probably what people go for, and it was convenient to be able to walk to dinner. We didn't go to the beach because of the fee, we drove to Emerald Bay instead, which was incredibly beautiful. There was a helpful binder of recommendations in the room, and it was great to have a full-size refrigerator and freezer as well as a little stove. Our bathroom had been recently remodeled, and was very nice and very clean.
I would love to just say that the Stardust is the most beautiful property that our family could ever be a part of. I give them 5 stars because every time we go we are totally treated like family. Kenny, Jessica, Luis are fantastic!!! Anything you need they are there. The rooms are just like being in your home so cozy and nice. Flowers are so beautiful always taken care of. The staff of cleaning ladies always keep those rooms so clean.|The gentleman always are fixing whatever needs to be done . Everyone is so friendly and kind. If you want a place to stay or buy this is the place to go….|People that don’t give good reviews are nuts!!!!
Front desk staff, Montse and Jessica are always very pleasant from answering the phones, to checking in, to accommodating any questions or concerns during our stay. ||Luis is awesome with answering reservation questions too! Always prompt and efficient.||Also, the grounds and housekeeping staff are always polite, friendly, and helpful as well. ||And what would the Stardust be without Kenny?! Kenny has helped maintain a Must Stay Vacation Destination in beloved South Lake Tahoe. ||Finally, we love the popcorn! First things we go for when checking in.
Beds are comfortable, kitchen fully supplied, breakfast included . Location can't be beat, best in South Lake Tahoe. Activities staff, Victor and Elizabeth, do a great breakfast and keep you busy if you want activities. They are both so friendly. Great pool and spa. Love this place.
Stardust is always a wonderful experience! Clean rooms, friendly staff, and many included amenities ( pools, jacuzzi, bicycles, great continental breakfast offered daily). we are in walking distance to the casinos, returants, and things to do. Heavenly Village is right across the street with fine restaurants (Kalani's Hawaiian cuisine is fantastic) and activities.
Location! Location! Location! Best Kept Secret! Home Away From Home! We have owned at the Stardust for over 25 years and always look forward to spending time there. The Stardust is comfortable, centrally and conveniently located close to everything. You can walk to the beach, restaurants, shopping, etc. Heavenly Village is minutes away. They have organized activities for all ages, hot tubs, pools for adult and children, ping pong, bicycles, BBQs and more. The rooms are very nice, clean, cozy and comfortable. Kenny, the resort manager, and his staff are always helpful, friendly and accommodating. The surrounding landscape is colorful, lush and beautifully appealing. Would definitely recommend the Stardust Lodge.
Great Vacation. The staff was excellent. The resort is really nice. The location is great. It is close to the lake and close to the casinos. Kenny is the manager and was a great help. We enjoyed hiking and eating at the many restaurants nearby. Resort is pet friendly and we took advantage to it with our dogs, there was a dog beach nearby that we went to a few times. we used the barbeques on site and had a great family bq. |Resort has bikes for the guests to use. A lot of shops nearby. Free coffee and popcorn all day every day. Nice donuts and coffee and more every morning. Went to the Magic show at Harveys. Great show Alex Remon and his dog MJ. Always have to great time. thank you, Stardust, see you soon. Les
Fantastic one-old school motor inn. My room was mildly renovated but mostly original and in amazing condition. Murphy bed? Genius way to open up the room. One of the cleanest motels I have stayed in. The only trouble is there is no AC so it got a little warm during my stay in mid July. Otherwise, five stars.

I have been a time share owner at Lake Tahoe Vacation Resort since 2011. I have been happy with my location but never the service we were promised. Several times one our reservation we were told the room was not available and we were sent to a differ
Newly renovated rooms are awesome, and the location is easy walking distance to heavenly chairlift. Also the valley parking system worked well and way included in the resort fee. Want much atmosphere for what we thought would be a ski week but maybe
The Mt. Tallac trail is an amazing trail to hike in Lake Tahoe. It isn't easy, about 4.5 miles from the trail head to the summit with about 3,300 feet of elevation gain. The second half of the trail is mostly all rock and is very steep in parts. The
The place is really nice, the water is crystal clear but very cold. It's worth it to pay the $5.00 fee to see this beautiful place. In the middle of it there's an old house, scary but beautiful.
Went with my daughter and husband and came from the heavenly line since the wait at the resort was 2 hours! They helped us right away and we were able to get all the equipment we needed in a reasonable time frame. The staff are super friendly and acc
Took this trail to go to Cascade Falls. It's flat for the first 5 mins or so and then becomes rocky and risky at the corners.
There is some construction work going on in the area so they have put up temporary boards marking the trail. Good job!
