Five Stars all the way! The perfect breakfast place, of lunch, or whenever! The food is very tasty, hot from the kitchen, portioned properly & skillfully made. We had breakfast but will definitely come back for lunch.
First time going here because our go to breakfast place is closed for a few weeks & WOW! Amazing breakfast a hidden gem in Stanwood! The husband said best chicken fried steak of his life . We will be back for sure. The waitress on duty this afternoon was so sweet and attentive . 10/10
This is one of those great little must-try dives! It's situated in the oldest part of Stanwood on the brick road, surrounded by antique brick buildings. It has a cool, retro, 1950s atmosphere with a fun, old-timey feel. Their breakfasts are amazing, and they have the best hashbrowns in town!
Loved it, I just love old style restaurants. It’s in the old part of town and maybe not that appealing on the outside but it’s really cool on the inside. I stopped by for breakfast on a weekday, not busy. Ordered an omelette and toast. Came with a more than generous portion of hash Browns. Really enjoyed it, couldn’t eat all the hash browns. Server was sweet and efficient and they had a newspaper on the counter, when was the last time you saw that.
Food was bland. There wasn't much flavor to anything. The gravy tasted of unseasoned flour. Besides the distinct lack of flavor, it also seemed to be entirely unsalted. Which is fine, I get it. A lot of elderly eat there. Though they hardly provide viable salt at the table. The salt shaker was lumpy. I had to take the top off to get any out. It wouldn't fit through the holes. The pepper wasn't lumpy, but I also needed to take the top off due to how slowly it came out. My scrambled eggs were hardly scrambled. There were distinct whites riddled with yellow streaks. My hashbrowns were barely cooked. The service was awful. We were waiting for a table to get cleaned. They missed the spilt milk on my seat. I had to talk to multiple people before it got cleaned up. One waiter hallered at another one to stop what she was doing (which was taking someone elses order) to come clean up our booth. She didn't. It seems like her remark fell on deaf ears. We waited until we saw another staff member. Our primary waiter was maybe 16 and ill trained. She avoided eye contact every time she walked by and walked quickly like she was trying not to get stopped for anything. The person who delivered our food was nice and she filled up my soda for me. We had almost no service. It took great effort and patience to get the 2 refills that we got. I had to ask the food deliverer and the designated water filler both of whom were not my actual waiter. The toast was good. The cashier was great. I'm a sucker for breakfast food. It's hard to screw up packaged chicken friend steak and hashbrowns to the point of being inedible, so overall it was an OK experience.
Absolutely amazing cafe! A must-visit just west of I-5 in downtown Stanwood. Service was friendly and fast, and the food was incredible! Pictured: chicken fried steak with hashbrowns and scrambled eggs, and a deluxe cheeseburger with bacon and fries on the side.
They have corn beef hash, and it's a standout! We loved eating our breakfast surrounded by dinner nostalgia, including old jukebox-looking 📻. Server was sooo nice even though she had to cover the entire room. Coffee was ok, no real punch & they could do with the addition of Stevia and coconut sugar. OJ, basic store-bought. You need to add salt to everything. Sourdough isn't very punchy either and the breakfast steak was overdone and bland.
This was our first time, But not our last. The breakfast was great, and a great value. It has a small town feeling. I wasn't a fan of the silverware. Loved the old time radio collection.
