This is a more modest historical home that is not as lavishly decorated as almost all the Antebellum homes and B&B's in Natchez. It feels more like a very nice condo or cabin, but it is worth a stay if that is what you want. It is not a true B&B, as you only get vouchers for breakfast at a coffee shop a couple of blocks away, but has a full self-service kitchen. It has all the modern amenities, but beware that each room does not have it's own AC thermostat. There is one on each floor that serves all the rooms on that floor, so be prepared, because Southerners love their AC no matter the season. It is less than half a mile from the main portion of downtown with several restaurants and shops, and the Bluff is walkable as well. Several nearby mansions and B&B's serve lunch and dinner, such as Stanton Hall next door, and the Guest House Mansion.

We stayed in the Frederick Stanton suite, which was very spacious and beautiful. Location was great...close to everything! We intentionally selected this suite because we wanted a cozy space to spend time away from the busyness of life without having to leave the room. We had plenty of space to lounge and read and rest without feeling like we were in a cramped hotel room. And the beautiful courtyard right off the room was perfect! Our only major issue was the thermostat is outside of the room, and it seemed as thought it must have been shared with other guests. We would put it on one temperature and go back to it being changed to something else, which made the temperature uncomfortable at times. My only other minor request is that I would have appreciated nicer soaps/toiletries in the bathroom, but that is just a personal preference. We would definitely recommend the space overall!

Stayed in the Belfast Suite for 2 nights with my husband and fur baby! The suite is huge and very comfortable. We enjoy staying in places that have a history and this one gave us that plus today’s modern comforts. The air conditioning worked perfectly which was important during the heat of July. The owner keeps the fridge stocked with soft drinks, water and milk. Our suite even had a Keurig for my coffee. We loved it so much we tried to add an additional night but it was booked! Lots of restaurants we could walk to and plenty of parking in front. We will be coming back soon since 2 days was not enough.

Last minute decision for a one night trip to Natchez. Found the Stanton Guest House and liked the reviews...and now I see why. Securing the perfect room online and finding it even better upon arrival was amazing. Upon arrival Kathy helped us inside and was always around if we had a question or needed anything from directions to an ice cold bottle of water. The house is charming, the Room (Thomas Stanton Suite) was amazing, and location ideal. There are many choices in Natchez, but this is one you should certainly consider if you want quiet, quaint, friendly, comfortable and so welcoming. Thank you, Marla, for operating such a wonderful guest house.

From the time you enter you feel like you have stepped back in time to the late 1800’s as a guest of the Stanton family themselves. Beautifully appointed with period furnishings throughout, the Stanton Guest House is true gem in Natchez. Even with all the antiques and throwbacks to the past two centuries, modern amenities are not forgotten. The kitchen is stocked with fresh fruits, cereal and other items. The refrigerator had plenty of fruit juices, milk and bottled water for guests to enjoy. The front porch is large and makes for a great spot for morning coffee before heading just a few blocks to the heart of the city and the Bluffs of the Mississippi River. When you get back from discovering all the history of Natchez, the large, quiet suites (we stayed in the Hulda Stanton Suite last visit) complete with high thread count sheets and comfortable bedding and pillows will provide a restful nights sleep.

This was our first visit to Mississippi and the welcome we received in Natchez was outstanding, The Stanton Guesthouse offered old world charm with modern amenities. Our connecting spacious suites Hulda & Varina were perfect for our family of 4. The guesthouse had a beautiful music room and an available kitchen to use. We parked our car and walked everywhere. We will definitely be back.

The Stanton Guest House is in a perfect location. If it weren’t so hot (typical in June in the South!) we could have walked to a couple of tour houses and to the downtown area. Stanton Hall and The Carriage House restaurant are both right across the street. The new owners had just bought the house and were absolutely wonderful hosts. They really made us feel at home.

This was my second stay at Stanton Guest Suite. This time I said in the Belfast Suite. First of all, the room was huge! It was done in blues and grays which gave the room a very calming feeling. Of course, just like my last visit, I slept in the highest quality mattress that I had ever slept on. There were a number of other guests in the house but the placement of the rooms made for a very peaceful 3 night stay. I would highly recommend this suite for people who are staying several days because of its size and the fact that there is an enormous walk in closet and a jacuzzi tub! Wish I could give it 10 stars!
