Nice park with tons of trails and plenty of lakes and ponds to enjoy. I have the state park pass so I didn’t pay directly for entry, but I think it’s worth a visit just to enjoy some nature in relative peace (not a ton of people around on a beautiful 70 degree day). It is near the highways though, so car noise is a thing but it wasn’t too bad overall. A nice place to spend a few hours.

Very pretty area with all the ponds around it and quiet for being close to i25. Not much for hiking, but for someone who struggles with elevation changes this would be a great area to walk. Personally, I wish there was a little more to do, but worth a visit and a repeat stay for sure.

Nice place for a day. But right along a hwy. Noisy, but great for getting back on the road & for a pit stop. Not great for a vacation spot. Public bathrooms were really dirty for only being early afternoon. Went last year & that is a change I saw this time. Much cleaner last year.

First time visit, some of the trails were cement. Lots of picnic areas. Been driving by for years but never stopped. We'll definitely be exploring the area in the future.

Above average RV sites with a lot of space between sites and quite a few sit right on a pond. Trails are plentiful and the park is very clean. No visitor center and no dog park that we saw. My rating is due to the constant road noise from I-25 which is literally in your “backyard” and it’s 24/7/365. It nullifies the beauty of the location. If you’re looking for RV sites to access Denver try Cherry Creek or Chatfield State Parks. There is some road noise at both however much less than at St. Vrain State Park - and we can say this having been at both, camping, the past two weekends (Sept of 2023).

Nice and relaxing spot for kayaking. Just try to ignore the noise from Hwy 119. Somehow, the birds manage it! Upd - 7-27-23: Still as wonderful as last year. We were only there for a one-day pass. The campgrounds were full, and there seemed to be a little more noise than last time (makes sense). Pelicans, blue herons, and even a big old turtle who made a quick disappearance. Still love the place, though!

The Denver area is surprisingly lacking in the number of RV parks. Our daughter lives north of Denver and when we come into town with our RV this is about as close as we can get and it’s a 30 minute drive. 40-45 minutes to Denver. The full hookup sites are on the south side of the park and there are no trees for shade and it lacks grass. The north side, where we stayed this time, has shade trees and grass but there are no full hook up sites. The park is clean and well maintained. There were a lot of people fishing in the ponds. The staff working at the gate were friendly and the pricing is fair. You do, however, have to pay $10 extra, DAILY, to even be in the park (on top of your RV rental cost).

I stayed at a nice level site on Bald Eagle Loop 14 days. Large sites with paving right on the water is a big plus, but mine had a western exposure so avoid that for a summer stay. The only negative was the noise pollution from the highway, which could be addressed. I wasn’t even that close to it but it was still loud.
