I always choose this location over the other because of the friendly staff. Jamie has been here for years, through kids and jobs and just seen my family grow. She makes me feel seen in my community. The store is always kept up nice and tidy. The new renovation and floors are nice! And anytime I’ve dropped off goods those gentleman are so kind. Sometimes the parking lot gets a little crowded but that’s a good thing seeing as so many members of Jackson visit.
If I could give you 0 Stars I would, the lady behind the desk had made the assumption that I was stealing right in front of my kids and Wife While I was just shopping minding my business. I gave them back their basket and little toys that my kids wanted with a middle finger "Rightfully so". The lady who works first shift needs to be fired, she's rude snobby and doesn't know how to communicate with customers. Next time there will be legal action. I shouldn't "Know" all of your "personal" business in your life within 20 mins of looking around. Less Gossip and more working. This place has really gotten bad. I feel terrible for the employees here who are well to do hard workers. Never shop here unless you are filming yourself the whole time. They might gossip amongst each other and accuse you of stealing based off of your looks. Judgemental much? I guess the bad apple truly does spoil the bunch because there are a few good One's here.
I enjoy thrift shopping...never know what you will find. They didn't mention not delivering on up stairs..but all and all good prices and a couple cool finds..worth a peek!
Variety of items from shoes to jewelry to house wares. No toys but lots of board games and puzzles. Great pricing. I stop in here frequently and always find some good buys. The building next door is also SVD and is full of furniture, wall decor and various crafting type items. Both stores are definitely worth stopping at.
If you can shop here over goodwill, do it. They have programs for those in need! And like any thrift store, I have no problem finding things I think I need.
The book/furniture building is where most of my time is spent here. There’s a large selection of books from all genres, and although I’ve never bought it from here, there’s a lot of furniture to choose from as well. Prices are very reasonable. Unfortunately, the main building is always very dirty and cluttered. Shelves are stacked and filled so much that it’s hard to look through things without digging. Would definitely recommend if you have the time to go through everything though (and if you have a bottle of hand sanitizer as well).
I know this is a second hand store but they actually have some great accessories for guitar players. Things like: cables, clip-on tuners, picks, capos, strings, etc. Even drumsticks. All of which are brand new. I always have students asking where can I get accessories and now I always recommend this place. Nice staff too. This was a great unexpected beautiful surprise. Prices were NOT ridiculously expensive and very reasonable to say the least.
I scheduled a donation pick up 3 weeks ago for 8/13/21: A beautiful down-wrapped sofa and love seat set, 2 matching barrel chairs, 2 ottomans, coffee and tables, bedroom suite, dining table set, range, clothes dryer, and more. The scheduler knew the quantity of my donation. I called the morning of to confirm and a gentleman stated that they would be here. As the home has narrow hallways, my husband and I carried the sofa, loveseat, and clothes dryer outside to aid in their pick up. I called St. Vincent de Paul of Jackson again at 3:00 p.m., because I hadn’t yet heard from them. The woman to whom I was transferred confirmed to me that they would indeed be coming for the pick up. She said they had a garage sale pick up in Brooklyn and would likely have to come back to the store to drop before coming for my donation. I made her aware that we moved things outside for their convenience, and she assured me that they would be coming as they were working late that day. At 5:42 p.m. I received a call from the store informing me that they will not be able to pick up my donation today and would like to reschedule for possibly the next week. I couldn’t have been more disappointed. I told her no, I’m not willing to risk having to go through that again. I’ll choose to donate elsewhere.

The Jackson Symphony Orchestra is truly a hidden gem in our town, often overlooked but impressively underrated. The classical concert was beyond expectations, a stellar performance that resonated deeply. Greetings from New York added a charming touch
Thank you for the wonderful candles you made for St. Aidans. We appreciate all you do for the religious communities and Jackson. You are amazing, God Bless!!
I dropped by for lunch, and I was surprised to find that the lunch counter is basically all the seating there is during the winter. Still, I found a seat quickly and the waitress was quick to take my order. I ordered a double olive burger with chee
JDL is Jackson's biggest asset. Hands down. Great books, programs, buildings, staff. Not the most spectacular library I've ever seen period, but it's our best local amenity. Makes living more bearable!
The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. My family had an impromptu catchup here and they couldn't have been kinder and provided a great space. The coffee is perfection and highly recommended â¨â¨â¨â¨â¨
I am so thankful for the kind staff for whipping up this gorgeous corsage at the very last minute, before closing. They truly went above and beyond. The lady that put this together did such a beautiful job. Thanks a lot â¥ï¸
