St Paul Hotel - Hotel in Wooster - 203 S Market St, USA

My husband and I are from the Cleveland area and we chose this Boutique Hotel because it looked very nice online. We thought the area would be a nice little stay for a 2 day staycation. We stayed in the premier Queen room with the deck and hot tub ( room 207). The room was very nice and clean, well kept. The amenities were very nice too...the wet bar area, mini fridge, comfy bedding & towels, rain- shower shower, heated floors, double sink and the large PRIVATE deck. We really liked the choice of drinks and snacks when we checked in, the beautifully decorated lobby sitting area 🎄 and the plentiful Continental Breakfast ( you can go as small or large depending on what you choose to select ... cereals, muffins, bagel or english muffin, fruit, yogurt, coffee and juices). They have their own parking lot in the back with a nicely lit patio with tables/ chairs ( would be nice to take advantage of during a nice warm evening, maybe with a cocktail), this is also their wheelchair assability in/ out of the hotel. Now, on to the negatives....which is why I took 1 star off the review. Albeit, how nice the bathroom and shower was it was lacking any shelving, nook or cranny to place your body wash, shampoo or conditioner on in the shower. It was only on our last day there checking out, and peeking in on 3 other rooms ( the doors were wide open as they were being cleaned/ turned over) that we discovered all the showers had a metal chair/ bench in them.....not our room! We wish we would have known that we definitely would have asked for one! 😏 And for the bigger complaint, we feel the hot tub was dated and not kept up for the money we put out for the most expensive room. To that point, we aren't even sure if the chlorine was up to snuff either. It didn't smell much like chlorine ( like I'm used to) and in the bottom of the tub had lots of debris like they aren't cleaning it enough. And yes, we put the top on and off each time during our stay. Also, the sides and bottom felt a little slippery due to sludge. Perhaps, we should have said something after our first use but we didn't want to ruin our time there at the hotel. All in all, it was a nice room and stay. P.S We also, opted to add on the cookie tray ...last minute and the hotel was able to accommodate! Reception staff very nice too!

**UPDATED WITH PICTURES!!** I cannot say enough nice things about the St Paul Hotel and their staff. Breakfast is served at your door and the exposed brick is everything. We stayed here for 2 nights and rented their event space for our wedding. Brenda and all her staff saved and made our wedding happen after our venue double booked. It was intimate and surpassed all our expectations. Thank you, Brenda & St Paul!!!

Very friendly, helpful and cooperative staff. Cute little hotel in the middle of historic downtown Wooster. Very clean, fresh and modern. Walking distance from many shops and restaurants in the area. Fifteen minutes walk from the College of Wooster. They don’t have buffet breakfast but they do give a list of items to choose and it is put right outside our door! We had a great experience , would highly recommend.

We haven't stayed here yet, but stopped in for a quick look. We are planning on staying here for our wedding weekend next year, and the tour solidified our decision to stay there next year. Can't wait!!

We love the St Paul Hotel. It's modern, perfectly located downtown, and has friendly helpful staff. We did experience some traffic noise in the morning, so we may request a room on the side away from Market Street the next time we come. The elevator was out of order, so we got some extra exercise, which I guess is a good thing. Our only complaint is the bathroom. The shower was beautiful, but poorly designed: to turn on the water and adjust the temperature, you either had to reach in from outside (which splashed water on the bathroom floor) or stand under a cold shower while you adjusted it (brrrrr). There were no grab bars, nor textured mats for safe footing. The shower had a bench seat which was very slippery, so we had to put a towel on it. But you couldn't sit on the bench and shower with the spray attachment because its hose was too short. This is a great small hotel, and we'll definitely be back. However, we might ask for the ADA room next time!

A delightful hotel in a great location. Lovely continental breakfast delivered to our room. Great service. Drinks at Grigio, a great bar next door, after a wonderful dinner at Basil Asian Bistro. Overall a wonderful stay as we picked out son from spring break.

What an incredible gem!!! We come to Wooster a few times a year for business and decided to give this hotel a try. We both thought - WOW!! In Wooster of all places!!! Not only is the hotel modern yet historic, quirky and cool, but it’s downtown in the little historic district surrounded by cool little restaurants and bars and shops to explore. ||||We stayed in a beautiful suite and felt it was really comfortable. The temperature was great, it was clean, the bed was perfect although my husband thought it was pretty hard. Two beautiful tasty sugar cookies were on the dresser to welcome us. Loved that my husband walked into the bathroom and picked up the remote and said “What the hell is this for?” Turns it on and it was a little TV screen in the mirror so you can watch whatever while showering! Lol love it! The shower was great too and big enough for both of us - tmi ||||We also loved that they dropped off breakfast with a soft knock at the door and left it on a tray stand. ||||Cons: the elevator was so slow that we actually arrived at the hotel originally in December of 2022 and got to the third floor in April of 2023. So we missed a lot but were able to get caught up on the news through our shower TV. Ok exaggerating. But only a bit. If you’d like to take a vacation from life and disappear from your toxic family, enter the time warping elevator at the St Paul and Zen out for a bit to reset yourself. Namaste my friend. Namaste ||||Another little con is that although I loved the breakfast delivery and the hot coffee dropped off - very nice - the bagel and English muffin were mediocre. It would be a great opportunity if the hotel would partner with one of the local bakeries to pick up some freshly baked treats instead. Extra work I know but would be a win win perhaps? ||||Also note that if you check in after 8pm the door is locked and you need to call them to let you in.
