SpringHill Suites Tempe at Arizona Mills Mall - Hotel in Tempe - 5211 S Priest Dr, USA

Rooms were clean and service from the front desk was great. Hot water in the showers was intermittent. It would be hot for a time, then cold for a minute until more hot water arrived. Hallways and elevators were always trashy looking and smelled like marijuana or popcorn. There were pistachio shells all over the elevators and around the elevator entrances on the floors. Breakfast was severely lacking. Scrambled eggs and pork sausage patties (turkey as well, one day, but mislabeled). Frequently no milk for cereal and only a few yogurt options with no add-ons (berries, chips, etc.). No waffles and very limited bread/pastry selection. No oatmeal/hot cereal each day. Several times as we came into the hotel at night, the odor of marijuana was very strong around the entrances and into the halls. In general, I expected better from a Marriott property.

Literally only stayed at the hotel for three hours due to an airline issue. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Would've liked to enjoy the breakfast in the morning, but was out before it was served. Arrived around 2am and out at 5am - Night attendant to awhile to come to front Ave front door was locked. After buzzing with no response, we jimmied open the door and waited for him to finally come out. Again room was great, just didn't have any time to truly enjoy it.

Lady at the front was very quick checking me in and very friendly. . Have stayed here before and never had an issue. Rooms are nice and clean and cold when you walk in. .

I am not particularly picky when staying at hotels. I know that the pictures on their official website are meant to be the most flattering. With that in mind, the rooms are older looking and more run down than advertised. The check-in process was quick and courteous. The breakfast is fair and at a convenient time.

The staff was friendly from the clerks, the ladies that prep breakfast and some of the cleaning crew. I love the fact that they have breakfast every morning. The rooms were nice, clean and comfortable beds. Check in and check out always ran smoothly. I would definitely place this on my list as a hotel to book in the near future.

I actually did not go in May 2024. While making reservation for October 2024, I made a data entry mistake & reserved a room for that day instead. A few minutes later, I cancelled the reservation. I did not contact Marriott Bonvoy Customer Service - my 2nd error. I was charged for the room. A request for even a partial refund was denied. So, this senior citizen has learned a valuable lesson. And, of course, cancelled the correct reservation for October, which was 2x the cost.

We are long time Marriott Bonvoy members. We booked this hotel because it was near our son, who we were visiting. Booked 4 nights. We had an airline issue in which we weren't going to get in until Thurs morning but wanted to keep our reservation and pay for the first night because we wanted a room avail in the morning when we arrived. Coordinated this with the hotel, mobile checked in and CALLED the hotel the day we were to initially arrive as instructed to let them know we did as instructed. Showed up and found out someone had coded us as a no show and cancelled our whole reservation. The day manager was able to get us a room but the room was less than desirable and she never apologized for the screw up on their part. Basically, just handed us the hotel keys. Not sure if the room was one of the "don't book this room unless desperate" or not. First, we were placed on the first floor in a handicap accessible room facing the parking. Worst side for car noises and the fast food restaurant noise. The room looked tired and in need of a freshen up. Second, and the most important, the bed was horrid; super bouncy, sagging, and hard. It definitely has exceeded its usefulness and needs to be put in the trash! |Third, I realize the bathroom was designed for wheelchairs, but the sink area was very small. |I'm pretty sure we will not return to this hotel to stay.

Shout-out to Ms. Pat, who prepared breakfast every day. We were happy with the offerings. Loved the location, too. Quite accessible. And quiet at night.
