SpringHill Suites Temecula Valley Wine Country - Hotel in Temecula - 28220 Jefferson Ave, USA

My parents, 22-month old daughter, cousin and I stayed here for 1 night while traveling to visit family. We were given rooms across from each other which was great. The rooms were clean and spacious. We had strong internet connection in our rooms. The blackout curtains were a plus. AC worked well. Breakfast was decent, but only downside side is that the eating area is a bit small of a hotel of its size.

I am sad to share that this stay was the worst stay at any Marriott property I have ever been to. I am disturbed by the quality of the hotel and the communication as it relates to hotel issues. First, we lost power several times. It was always at night, there was never communication. I understand the hotel cannot control this; but guests gathered in the lobby, too warm to sleep or sit in their rooms. The staff had no idea how to handle the situation, how to treat guests and it happened both nights of our stay (multiple times night 2) with no warning or apology. No offering to try and make guests more comfortable. My parents and I both stayed at the hotel and we got very little sleep due to this issue and the rooms overheating. The rooms smelled horribly of body odor. It was so strong, it was hard to be comfortable in the space or sleep. Not to mention during my stay, someone was smoking a cigarette and I had to call to complain. At this point, the entire floor stunk of cigarette smoke and it should've been detected far before. The room scent is gross and needs to be addressed. The air conditioning does not work. The rooms are constantly overheating and the AC does not keep it cool. I woke up too warm most of the night, one night partially due to the power outage, and really could not sleep comfortably. I have never had issues getting bottled water at the front desk. Especially in 100+ heat. The staff told me I could "pay" for water if I needed it, even after the main lobby water supply had run out and I was without an option other than the gym water. The gym water is warm. The pool was awful - it's covered in shade during the day. I don't see the point when it's difficult to really enjoy with sun. I do not recommend.

Jason at the front desk made our night. He was so helpful, very friendly and gave us local information we needed. The hotel is at a very convenient location for wine country without having to pay the very high prices of the winery boutique hotels actually in the vineyards. Recommend.

Positive: The cleanliness of the hotel was great! From the lobby to the room itself (even the bathrooms) were cleaned so well. Negative: At check-in the person was a bit quick and there was a guy on his phone looking over her shoulder while my information was getting typed.? it rubbed me the wrong way.

I booked this hotel for my wife and her family to stay in ahead of our wedding day. What a mistake. The room smelled damp and moldy. Shower door leaked onto the floor. I asked the staff for a new room but they were unable to help since they have oversold the hotels for the Memorial Day weekend. We were stuck with this horrible room due to their bad maintenance and greed. We asked if we could use/rent their conference room to for my wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother-in-law to get their hair and make up done as the room was horrible. They said it was their “policy” to use conference room only for business meetings due to risk of “damages/stains.” Luckily the Home2Suites down the street was much more helpful and rented us their conference room. A much better and recommended alternative to this place. I will try to get my money back, but knowing this place, I may be out of luck. This place doesn’t live up to the Marriott or Springhill standards.

The staff is awesome 👏🏻 The room on the other hand was terrible. First off the air didn’t work I order to cool room we had to run it at 56 degrees . The sinkin the room with the shower wouldn’t drain. The worst part is the lack of sound deadening from the freeway is piss poor. The noise is so bad and it does not stop all night. Last but not least we needed the pullout bed and it was very comfortable however the sheets and blankets that were I; the closet had been used and just folded up. New ones were gathered up and they were clean.

When walking in, I approached the front desk with a gal there. She looked up at me and stated she would be with me in a moment and continued to type away. I replied her no problem. I stood there with no bother what so ever when a few seconds later she looks up at me with attitude and stated again she would be with me in a moment. I replied to her okay. I was a bit thrown off with her attitude. Another gal walked out from the back office and the 1st gal turned to her and asked if “she could handle us”. At this point, I be ame upset. Not once did I give attitude or rush any of the staff members. The 2nd gal caught her wording, and began to attended us. She compliment me of multiple thing. I appreciated her efforts to correct the 1st impression upon my arrival with my coworker. The next day, my coworker and I packed up our stuff to check out. When I went to grab my lat item from the bed. I noticed a black dot. I got closer to it and found a bug in my sheets. I immediately got grossed out and my coworker had me take a picture to show front desk. Just knowing I slept in a bed that possibly had a bug there the whole night had me feeling gross. We came down and checked out at the front desk. The gentleman was very polite. I made him aware I had a photo to show him and placed my phone on the counter to show him the picture I had taken. It was still breakfast time, and there were multiple guest enjoying their meal behind me, so I did not want to be loud or cause a scene for the other. He immediately apologized and asked if I would like to have management give me a call. I said yes. He let me know he was adding a note to the room and assured me I would receive a call. He checked the picture again to see the time stamp of the photo. I received a call from a young lady to advise me the room had been inspected and they found nothing in the room. Location of the hotel is great, service was a disappointment with our 1st impression, cleanliness of the room was disappointing. Room had a stench and a bit outdated. For being part of the Marriott chain, this location was disappointing.

I used to really like this location, but service has gone downhill the past few years. While I love staying at Marriott, I will be looking for an alternative hotel on my next stay. Will not book again.
