Hotel staff was pleasant. Breakfast is good. Bathrooms are in need of TLC - are showing their age.
Call to see if pool is available for use. Was closed the 5 days we were there due to the lock malfunctioning on the door into the pool.
While visiting, outside temps were 74-80. Yet inside lobby (work stations, meeting tables, breakfast area) never got cooler than 80. Whether 8:30am or 8:30 pm, lobby was 80-85 degrees. Hotel staff said they could not do anything about it. No fans. No air flow. Miserable for doing work or holding meetings. Wouldn't stay here again.
We stayed for one night. Checkin (Jack) and checkout were met with friendly staff, including the breakfast ladies. Complimentary breakfast was great (egg muffin, crispy bacon, mini waffle, cereals, fruit, coffee/tea, juice, etc). Being downtown, we also appreciate the free parking for hotel guests. Jack also informed us about the laundry room and fitness room downstairs.||Hotel appears dated but looks clean and relatively well-maintained. Our 2-queen bed room was as pictured. Room was relatively clean with a partial view of the river. Our beds were comfortable. Bathroom has the basic amenities (towels, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, hairdryer, etc). There were lots of power outlets and USB ports for charging your electronics.||I did not realize that they are near a train track, but we only heard it briefly once or twice before 10pm, so not a big issue there for us. However, our room smelled musty, possibly because of the carpet. Other than that, it was a decent stay for one night.
Google Maps directions are wrong, but we found it and had a great night stay! I love a hotel that says Hot tub and actually has one. My kids loved the pool. The staff was super kind, even when the laundry malfunctioned after they warned us what not to do🤦🏽♀️ They responded quickly and patiently. Everything was great!
April 2024: I stayed at the SpringHill Suites in Lawrence, Kansas for work for a few days in two consecutive weeks in April. There are only 2 Marriott properties to choose from and I choose this one next the river.
The hotel was former shopping center/mall that was renovated to a hotel. This hotel is fairly dated and needs a good refresh. My two rooms were both quiet and fairly clean, but definitely need some love. Since I was in Lawrence for work, I didn’t hang out in the hotel so it was okay for what it was aka a quiet, safe, fairly clean sleeping place.
Jed was the one who checked me in the first time I stayed there and he had a great personality. He quickly and professionally checked me in at around 11 pm. Thanks, Jed!!!!
Stayed here two nights while doing a college tour of KU. This was a great location at the top of Mass Street (the main "hang out" street on campus). Not really walkable to campus (it would be a far walk) but absolutely walkable to all the restaurants, shops, etc. The hotel was very clean, nice views over the river, and really spacious. My kids enjoyed the trundle bed so they didn't need to share one of the two queen beds. We asked for a room away from the elevator and it was very quiet in terms of hallway noise, but we could hear some noise through the walls (just a little bit) and we could hear the water running when our neighbors were using their bathrooms. So, not perfectly quiet, but pretty standard for a hotel and nothing that our white noise app on our phone didn't cover up. There was no noise from outside at all; it's very quiet in that respect. I'd definitely stay here again. Breakfast was good too, and the pool was a decent size.
I was there for a photography workshop (Foundation Workshop) and the hotel and the employees were so lovely and accommodating. I loved my room and the location to nice restaurants and shops. I had a great stay. I don't know when I'll be back to Lawrence but I would come back just to relax.
The view of the river and the birds was so wonderful.
Good place, room was clean, no bugs. The elevator was a great inconvenience so much so I called ahead to inquire the operational status, as did the couple behind me, so I was really shocked at how slow the elevator was.
Good location. Right by Mass Street. Easy parking-in a free lot. Bed was firm. Jack at the desk was very nice and helpful. Good breakfast selection. Everything seemed clean. You walk in and are on third floor. Train whistle goes all night. I would stay here again.

Very nice Marriott brand hotel. They could use some updates with the furniture and some new paint as well. The staff were great. I had a little glitch with my reservation and Jessica took care of it right away. I will stay here again when I am in Law
Front desk staff was extremely friendly, helpful and made sure our stay/experience was top notch. Hotel was quiet! Breakfast was hot and ready on time. Would definitely recommend. Great job to the entire team!!!
