SpringHill Suites Kansas City Lenexa/City Center - Hotel in Lenexa - 17190 W 87th St, USA

I travel to this area somewhat frequently and have stayed at this location a few times before as it is convenient to work locations in the area. I was offered a room on the ground floor which is 1 floor below the lobby level. After a long day of travel, I was happy just to be able to rest. The next day I went to the front desk and reported the missing headboard panel and exposed metal brackets that had sharp edges on them. The desk clerk indicated she would advise the owner and resolve the issue. I returned that afternoon and found the condition remained and no note, or any indication that it had been looked at by the staff. I went back to the front desk and inquired, and after a few minutes and showing the second staff person photos of the concern, was offered to move to a different room as the resolution to the missing panel was 3 to 4 weeks out. I went back to my room and packed up all my items and back to the desk, and was issued keys to a different room. Frustrated that I had to take the additional effort with seemingly little concern from management or the staff. Additionally, I reported someone sleeping in a running car in the parking garage that I noted had not moved since the prior day. It seems that there is no routine security patrol at the parking garage. This site was full of teen age travel ball team players and parents. The hotel should do better in this regard.

Stayed here for 5 days to visit our daughter who lives across the street and we absolutely loved it! Easy access to everything fun and great walking path into a 3500 acre park with a lake kayaking!

Front staff was wonderful. The hotel itself uses a bit of false advertising to lure customers. The pictures on the website for the rooms at this location show a walk-in shower. Getting there, you'll see they're all regular tubs. When asking the front desk about this, they said the only walk in showers they had were in accessible rooms for those with wheelchairs, etc. As this was more a corporate issue, I sent a message to Marriott to make sure they were aware, in which they just forwarded the message to the local hotel and no-one ever responded. Seems they're ok with this. Fixtures in the room were loose (specifically the shower hardware), there was damage to the walls for the sliding bathroom door, and the layout with the TV (which was small even by hotel standards) made it so you couldn't watch it comfortably from the bed or the couch. Breakfast was not great. The eggs and sausage were soggy, as they had mass amount of water in the trays. The bacon the day prior ran out before the end of breakfast service and was not refilled. For the price and location, I expected more than a run of the mill hotel. The area is great, but this hotel does not match the standards and quality of the surrounding area. Next trip to the area we'll likely stay in the Hyatt at the other side of the Lenexa Center area. I do not recommend this hotel. This is disappointing to say, as I've enjoyed every other Marriott hotel I've stayed in.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. We booked a stay for my child’s birthday as a treat because this hotel had an indoor pool. The pool is so tiny. We happened to stay while a youth baseball team was there. It was mass chaos. The hotel staff did nothing to control the kids or parents. The parents were drinking and doing shots in the lobby while their kids ran all over the hotel unattended. They were in the pool and work out facility being absolutely disrespectful and out of control. It totally ruined our stay and experience.

Newer hotel with very spacious and nice rooms. Good breakfast included. Entrance is on a main street, so it is a little difficult to park for checking in. Free parking garage in the back. Conveniently located near several restaurants. Easy access off Interstate 435.

It's a great location. Large clean rooms. Nice comfortable. Bed staff is very friendly. Not much more to add or ask for

Rooms were decent. We stayed two nights. Service is horrible, left room in the morning expecting room service to show up and clean room and refill towels and other supplies. None of that happened when we returned in evening. Had to call front desk couple of times for service to show up and they finally arrived. Cleaning was not up to par. Coming to breakfast, more vegetarian options would have been better. The place is close to many restaurants and fastfood places.

Positive: Room was very clean! Negative: TV kept losing signal and the breakfast was a big disappointment.
