SpringHill Suites Chicago Southeast/Munster, IN - Hotel in Munster - 9651 Calumet Ave, USA

Wife and I stayed July 3. So we can see the Munster fireworks and not worry about leaving. To get a night away. Room was great. Only issue is we went to breakfast at 8. Ended at 9. I know the hotel knows it will be busy. They had no eggs. At first. Was like, they will bring more out. Wife and I ate what they had available. Attendant came out to fill other things. Said they are working on it. We ate. No more eggs came out. And everything else became scarce. It got really busy and nothing was brought out. I can see many unhappy people. If breakfast is 6-9. You should be able to accommodate your guests. Very unacceptable.

Rooms were clean as expected. The location of TV was at weird place if you would like to watch while being on the bed. They donot provide room service if you are staying less than 3 nights. Breakfast was decent although very limited options. Check-in and Check-out were easy.

When we saw the mysterious white stains on the towels after check in, we said nothing. Then they neglected to clean our room for the entire 3 night stay…and the soap dispenser in the shower was empty after the first night…and we had to hunt down our own towels all 3 days because they hadn’t been in to refresh them. And on top of that, instead of just apologizing and making sure our room was cleaned right away, management blamed us for not having soap or towels in our room.

Positive: Location Negative: You have to stay more than two days to have your room clean, they only come every other day and you have to request to get your room serviced. So don?t dirty your room if you staying less than three days; had to dump own trash cans and clean bed

Pros: The location is ideal, property was clean and nice. LaDerrick is a gem. Cons: The night staff needs more training. They did not check me in under my existing reservation, they created a new reservation for me and cancelled the one I had. So not only am I being charged for 2 nights, I never got my points/acknowledgement on the night that I did stay. As a Gold Elite Marriot Bonvoy member I expected more consideration and patience. The manager Emily raised her voice at me while I was trying to explain how I am being doubly charged for a night I didn't stay. I have taken this to corporate and will dispute the charge with my cc company.

The hotel is clean and the staff is friendly. We had an issue with the dog policy at this hotel. My mom has a service dog and it clearly says on the website that they only allow service dogs, but unfortunately during our stay we where told that only service dogs with who aid to specific disability are allowed on property. The lady at the front desk mentioned its stated online, but nothing online says anything about this. This has disrupted our entire stay and I have never heard of anything like this, as I am hotel manager myself.

Very friendly staff. Room was really comfortable and clean and quiet. Only reason that I didn't rank it 5 stars was the lack of USB outlets.

It SUCKS, who puts a tv in a spot where the you are in the bed and or the sofa/couch you still can’t see the entire tv because of a stupid wall/desk that has no use. DONT even get me started on the bathroom design who doesn’t have a lock for a bathroom. This suite is not sweet it is PLAIN bad especially for the price. The staff was nice tho, +1 star
