Spring Hammock Preserve - Park in Longwood - 2985 Osprey Trail, USA

Love this place. One of my favorite trail heads. Super simple and fast. If your feeling adventurous you can go off the trail head and explore too. Can be alittle muddy if you go off the trailhead but super fun! I love bringing my dog for walks through here. It's about 2 miles to the end and back. There's a beautiful little sulfer spring as well when you walk down the trail. A nice way to get out and get some fresh air!!

This trail was so tranquil! Occasionally, I ran into other hikers, but for the most part, it felt as though it was me and my God communing together alone. It is great for quality family time, self reflection, etc. Don't take my work for it. Experience it for yourself.

We have been trying to get as many hikes in as we can. It's time to break away from everyday life and get out there. We absolutely loved this hike! At first it seemed like a fairly tame and straightforward hike. But there are some cool adventures out there if you look for it! Bring mosquito repellent if you take this hike.

This trail is absolutely wonderful! I walk there every morning before work to decompress. The only bad thing about it is it doesn’t have enough trash cans. Especially at the tables under the pavilion. It says throw away trash in big letters on there but there is no where to throw it.

Great place to go for a nice walk or a bike ride. decent parking, great location and very peaceful. Brought my dog here and he loved the trail!

Really beautiful hike. Make sure to bring bug repellent if you're walking closer towards Lake Jesup.

Very nice county park that could be on par with a state park with some infrastructure improvements. There is very little signage or a trail map. As a 1st time visitor, I didn't know where I was supposed to go (go to the end of the paved road). The property is managed by three agencies, and the numerous side trails off the main Osprey Trail were let go into disrepair by one of them. There is talk that a couple of them will be renovated in the coming few years. There is a lovely education center operated by the school system, with a pretty garden next to it that is open to the public. It also has the paved Cross Seminole bike trail run through it. There's a small area of pine flatwoods near the parking area, but most of the property is a hydric hammock, with many clear creeks, frogs, birds, hardwood trees, ferns, and wildflowers that like wet conditions. The main Ospery Trail is high and hard packed. I didn't make it very far on my trip, but I did get to see one of the big cypress trees on an old derelict trail. I'd enjoy coming back again when the improvements are made.

Very nice park with boardwalk around the river and spring for easy access. Swimming was closed during our visit due to Manatees being in the spring. The good news is we saw Manatees. They offer kayak rentals and have boat tours around the St John's that are great.
