We were the only patrons on the food side and it took 5 plus minutes to get waited on at the counter even after employees saw us. The guy that finally helped us (from the bar) was great. Menu is limited, and food is hit or miss. Shrimp poboy was good, the fries great, but the roast beef poboy was amazing! The Boudin balls (no flavor & looked like dog food) and gumbo (almost tasted burnt) were horrible. The place is cute enough and in a high traffic area. I hope the outside seating and bar area will keep it afloat, but honestly, I'm afraid from my experience it will be gone in a year. There is just too much competition in Nashville.

Are you in East Nashville, and the thought of mouthwatering Cajun cuisine makes your taste buds dance with anticipation? Look no further than Spicy Boy's, the genuine Cajun gem born in New Orleans and established in 2021, right here in the heart of East Nashville. Our impromptu visit to this cozy eatery turned into a delightful surprise, and we're here to share our spicy adventure. Upon stepping through the front door, you'll be greeted by a circular sign that proudly proclaims, "Spicy Boy's - Genuine Cajun Established 2021 - Born in New Orleans." With such a declaration, our expectations were set high, as we've had our fair share of authentic gumbo in the streets of the Crescent City. Spicy Boy's did not disappoint. The gumbo here is a remarkable representation of its New Orleans roots. As connoisseurs of Creole and Cajun flavors, we can attest that the gumbo at Spicy Boy's is the real deal. A rich, flavorful broth served piping hot, it's filled with a medley of perfectly cooked seafood, sausage, and an aromatic blend of spices. It's a comfort food that warms the soul and transports you straight to the heart of Louisiana. A pro tip: Don't forget to ask for a bottle of Crystal Hot Sauce, a quintessential condiment in New Orleans. A dash of this fiery elixir will infuse your gumbo with an extra touch of spicy authenticity, just like you'd find in the French Quarter. We ordered this fiery sauce to go, and it's the perfect companion for home-cooked meals when you crave a taste of the bayou. While we can't vouch for the entire menu as we only sampled the gumbo on this occasion, the ambience and decor at Spicy Boy's are worth noting. The interior is adorned with various memorabilia that celebrate the culture, vibrancy, and uniqueness of New Orleans. Mardi Gras masks, jazz instruments, and colorful artwork adorn the walls, creating an inviting atmosphere that pays homage to the Big Easy. As you explore the menu, you'll discover a range of dishes commonly found in the dining establishments of New Orleans. From jambalaya to po' boys, the choices are vast, ensuring there's something for every palate. If you're a fan of NOLA's signature cocktails, you'll find classics like the Sazerac and the Hurricane available at the small bar tucked away in the back of the restaurant. For those who appreciate al fresco dining, Spicy Boy's offers leisurely patios with classic iron fencing reminiscent of NOLA's charming outdoor dining areas. These patios are perfect for enjoying your meal or a few drinks while basking in the East Nashville atmosphere. Now, let's sprinkle some interesting facts about New Orleans and its culinary heritage to pique your curiosity: Before you head over to Spicy Boy's for your Cajun fix, remember to check their website for the latest information, including hours of operation and any special events. It's always a good idea to plan your visit and ensure you get a taste of the bayou's finest. In conclusion, if you're in East Nashville and yearning for an authentic taste of New Orleans, Spicy Boy's is a must-visit. From their soul-warming gumbo to the vibrant ambiance that transports you to the Crescent City, this Cajun establishment is a hidden gem you won't want to miss. So, gather your friends, family, or fellow foodies, and make your way to Spicy Boy's for a dining experience that's sure to tickle your taste buds and ignite your passion for all things Cajun. Be sure to use our recommended hashtags to share your Spicy Boy's experience with the world, and don't forget to check the website for all the details you need to plan your visit. Laissez les bons temps rouler! 🎷🍤🎭 #LifeAfterAdulting #SpicyBoysNashville

We came here to enjoy a small bite to eat and to have some drinks. The staff were friendly and the food was brought to us quickly. They have nice outdoor seating for when the weather is nice. No complaints!

Overall a super solid place. They don't have a super big menu, but everything they offer they make really well. I was especially a fan of the shrimp platter and their fries! I love that they offer a vinaigrette salad, it really balances out the fried foods.

Superb food, outstanding staff, and fun ambiance. A must if you're in Nashville! You can't go wrong with anything you order here. Seafood boil, meat pies, roast beef debris fries, everything!

This place makes me feel like I’m back in NOLA! It’s got the atmosphere like I walked up to a joint on Magazine! I’ve been 6 or 7 times now and the gumbo is ALWAYS spot on! The staff is always friendly! I’ll be back!

Hands down worst crawfish I've ever had. I've had it multiple times in TX, LA, MS, and TN. They were gritty because they don't know how to clean them properly. I told them they tasted dirty, and they laughed and said, "they're supposed to, they live in the mud." Lots of better crawfish in Nashville that is actually clean and not overcooked because the meat kept sticking to the shell here.
