My family and I enjoyed staying at Spencer House Bed and Breakfast last week. We loved the beautiful house filled with gorgeous woodwork and antiques from another era as well as the equally hard to find, unsurpassed old-fashioned hospitality of our hosts, Steve and Lisa. Spencer House is comfortable, immaculate, and charming. It is a good place to relax, whether it’s indoors in the well appointed and varied rooms or outdoors on their huge and inviting porch. If you enjoy walking, it’s a good place to get your steps in. If you are driving it’s in a good location to go to Presque Isle, the amusement park, several great restaurants, antique stores and the mall. |The breakfasts, prepared by Lisa and Steve, were delicious and filling and served in their gorgeous, floor to ceiling oak dining room. |We highly recommend Spencer House Bed and Breakfast and look forward to staying there again soon.
Spencer House is our go to when we visit friends in Erie. And under the current ownership of Lisa and Steve it has gotten even better! They have made some very good updates to this historic home. Immaculately clean rooms, a beautiful front porch to relax on, excellent breakfasts, and even candy and mints in the foyer. The hosts are friendly and helpful but not intrusive. The location couldn't be better, you can walk a few blocks to downtown Erie and it is an easy bike ride to the peninsula. Highly recommend!
What a wonderful experience we had at the Spencer House Bed and Breakfast. Steve and Lisa are outstanding hosts. The house is beautiful, the rooms are so comfortable, and Steve and Lisa are so accommodating of special needs. Every detail in the rooms is covered. This was an overall exceptional experience for our family .. and I cannot say enough good things. Thank you for sharing the recipe for the Blueberry Stuffed French Toast 😊. We look forward to returning one day so that we can sit on the beautiful, relaxing front porch and enjoy delicious food.
We enjoyed our stay for one night at The Spencer House in Erie! A beautiful historic mansion on "Millionaires Row". The hosts were very attentive, gave us a brief tour and history of the house, made recommendations and served a hot delicious breakfast in a well appointed dining room. I would definitely recommend if you are passing thru the area.
My husband and I stayed at the Spencer B&B for an early anniversary trip. It was the highlight of our weekend, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. The hosts Steve and Lisa were so warm and welcoming and gave us a whole tour of their B&B along with the history. We also called them in advance to get some recommendations for places to go while on our stay and they offered us great choices! Our room was cozy, clean, and SO much better than a hotel room. It had its own charm and personality (we stayed in the Captain's Quarters on the 3rd floor). We loved the relaxing feel and wonderful amenities (large tub and shower). Our breakfast in the morning was absolutely delicious and we loved that it was home cooked. We had an amazing yogurt parfait, eggs, potatoes, and incredible cinnamon crunch pancakes. Along with it, we had amazing conversation with the owners as well as the other couple joining us. I hope we get the opportunity to come back here in the future because it was one of the best, if not the best, places we have stayed. Thank you for making our anniversary trip a truly memorable one!
We were able to book all of the rooms at Spencer House for 2 nights for a gathering of our family from all over the US. The house is beautiful, and well maintained. The front gardens are lovely. The hosts were wonderful! They made us feel welcome and comfortable, and enthusiastically spoke of the history of Spencer House. The breakfasts that were provided were fabulous! I look forward to staying here again when I return to Erie.
Thanks to my brother Dave, we held our sibling reunion at Spencer House, with 7 of 8 siblings staying at the B&B (8th lives in Erie). It was wonderful to gather in a beautiful large house that felt like home and allowed us to play games, talk on the porch, and reminisce over a delicious leisurely breakfast.
Steve and Lisa are gracious hosts who are helpful but never intrusive. We loved hearing about the history of the house.
Each room is unique and delightful (and equipped with complementary local chocolate!), and the solid brick walls mean absolutely no sound transfer (Sixth St is quiet, too). Individual AC units for each room allowed us each to stay comfortable during a hot spell, too. The location was perfect for us and is central to almost any point of interest in Erie.
I highly recommend Spencer House for anyone visiting Erie!
Spencer House is a most wonderful place to stay! My husband and I visited Erie for the first time to visit friends and enjoy Presque Isle and some wineries Steve and Lisa made us feel so welcome at Spencer House, and our stay so comfortable. Their historic home is absolutely beautiful, the President's Suite was very elegant (where we stayed,) and the breakfasts were so delicious. We will definitely be repeat customers.
