We were greeted my a very kind receptionist who showed us room immediately. Our room was gorgeous and so clean. Beds neatly made, great couch, functional desk, and a stunning bathroom. The tv is great, has almost every channel. The shower has good water pressure and has built in shampoo conditioner, and shower gel, which all work great, leaving hair soft. I put 4 starts for location because the hotel happens to be on the side of a busy road. The noise didn’t bother me, but might bother others. The service is great, and the breakfast is better. They have 24 hour coffee and tea station and they have the best selection of tea and creamer! The breakfast has a variety of food, bagels, muffins, juice, with a great seating area. You are guaranteed to have a great visit!!
During our three-night stay in NJ, we booked reservations at two different hotels. Our first night was spent at this hotel, which is far better compared to the four-star hotel where we stayed for the remaining two nights. I'm confused by the low ratings this hotel receives, as it is exceptionally clean and spacious, with a very courteous reception staff. The glass elevator, providing a view outside, is a particularly unique for me. They also have a fitness center which my teens enjoyed. Free parking just around the hotel. The only drawbacks were the closed pool and the limited breakfast options (I wish they offered more than just bagels, should've added like eggs, etc). Overall, we were satisfied with the amenities provided. It appears that this hotel has recently undergone renovation, as everything appears fresh and well-maintained. The housekeeping staff, particularly a kind lady who promptly provided extra bedsheets for my son's use of the retractable couch. Seeing the thoroughness with which the lady cleans the rooms left me impressed, hence I'm confident that the rooms are sufficiently clean. If only this hotel were closer to NYC, we would have preferred to stay here for the entire duration rather than switching hotels. If I find myself visiting NJ or NY again, I would certainly choose to book at this hotel once more.
I would really recommend this hotel. If you are staying in New Jersey. We stayed there while we visited New York. Went to the Bronx zoo and other sites. It was one of the best hotels I stayed out. It was clean. Even the rooms were clean, and the hotel is smoke-free , plus my family with me having asthma. Even when we left and saw housekeeping, they said you us to do something for your room. we would just say trash or if they forgot a towel or something they were so sweet. The lady at the front desk was so friendly,kind,helpful, and sweet. I think her name was Saneitta. The only thing I wish was breakfast was more than just bagels. Also, I wished they had milk and maybe cereal for the little one. Other than that, it was a great stay, and I would go back again. The pool area was clean, has a shower to rinse off the clorene before heading back to your room, had table and chairs with towels on each table, which I thought was sweet so if parents didn't want to go in the pool the had a place to sit and a towel ready to wrap around their little one in
I booked the double queen suite in april 2024 for a wedding & requested early arrival of 11 am but I did not get a room until 200pm after several calls to corporate. The rooms for a suite only had 1 tv, no dressers to put your clothes in, no microwave in room so you have to go to the lobby to heat your food, no coffee pot in rooms no alarm clocks in room, no ice bucket and a extremely tiny fridge. The website says continental breakfast which is a lie. Low budget hotel with a mid price tag.|It used to be a Best Western before spark and I sure miss the Best Western.|The coffee and tea was really good.
Overall my experience at the Spark Hotel was good. My biggest thing was cleanliness and the room exceeded my expectations. The room was very clean, and that’s all I can ask for from any Hilton property I stay at. Now some suggestions for the property would be putting a microwave and Keurig machine in all the rooms. Other than that I have no complaints.
Spacious and clean rooms. Nice walking trail behind the hotel. Beautiful common area with tea always available and a microwave in the lobby. Very friendly front desk staff, too. Close to downtown Rahway where there are lots of nice places to eat.
Nice location next to a river and close to the airport (no shuttle service at hotel). I couldn't check in online to get a digital room key on the Hilton app despite multiple attempts. When we checked in, I felt as if the afternoon front desk person (male) was giving me the 'third degree', from requiring ID/cc info (cc was immediately charged!) to car info. (Maybe this is just the nature of the city we were in, I don't know.) Since all of my info is stored on the Hilton website, I didn't understand why he didn't have it on his computer system. Despite signs everywhere stating it was a non-smoking hotel, we were inundated with Marijuana smells that somehow seeped into our room.
