This is a little-known treasure in SW Washington, DC. It was a gift from the women and children of the Titanic to the men, most of whom died, who chose to stay aboard the sinking ship to make room in the life boats for women to children. This inspiring and elegant memorial is located beside the Washington Channel, next to Fort McNair and about a 10-15 minute walk south of The Wharf. It is located within a modest park that is open 24/7. As a native Washingtonian who has seen it all, this Titanic Memorial remains at the top of my list. This is definitely a "must see."
The Southwest Waterfront Park has been around for a long time, and it shows both in its beautiful tall trees that line each side of the walkway, as well as in the cracked and broken concrete. It's a gem of a view, it's quiet and peaceful, so even though it could use some repairs, people love to walk their dogs here, bike along the water, and there are even a few poke stops and a poke gym for the kids. This is one of the reasons to live in Southwest, but I wouldn't call it a place for tourists because there isn't anything to "do." It's largely in a residential area, and not close enough to food and activities to go out of your way for it unless you need to get away from the crowds for a picnic or something. There also has been a recent gorgeous addition at the North end near where the dinner cruises depart, with brand new masonry, thoughtful hardscaping with winding paths, and flowering plants.
Peaceful area. Beautiful green areas. Many benches to sit and watch nature, people, water, and other activities.
It's so beautiful and tranquil here, right in this very spot. The view is gorgeous and if you look closely, you can see bikers riding across the river at Haine's Point. With the
Nice place along the DC waterfront to relax and enjoy the water. The sidewalks are in need of repair, so travel carefully.
Wharf offers a fun experience of dining, crabs, hotels and cool places to walk around.

Perfect place to visit during the spring/summer time.
It is a nice garden to walk around or rest on a grass. You can see the Washington Monument from here. Also, it is right next to the Lincoln Memorial. There is a pond that living creatures live. I like the view of Washington Monument pictures from th
One of the best places to spot the beautiful and iconic cherry blossoms which draw the whole world to DC. Here are some pics that were taken during sunset that give the pink beautiful flowers, a golden glow. Must visit during the peak bloom time!
Awesome little neighborhood park. Literally a hidden gem, tucked away between houses. The neighborhood association and City do a great job of keeping it up. It is a bit small and crowds quickly. The biggest thing to know is that there are a numbe
Had a great time touring the Capitol. We had to reserve a time to go on but totally worth it. The tour guide was informative and funny. They use these head phone sets which enable you to hear the guide no matter how far back from them you are. It is
We went there for a brisk evening walk, never expecting the Sun to be very intense. But so it was. Apart from that, this place is very beautiful. There are some restaurants adjacent to the waterfront where people can dine outside. The park is clean a
Great park away from the busy part of town. Free parking. Great for cycling and running. Kids play structure on the south side. Really enjoyed spending time here during our visit to DC.
Shady respite from the bustle of Connecticut Ave, bountiful birdsong, a few more cicadas in recent days, and friendly neighbors. Several creek crossings - choose your footwear well and bring a camera!
Went sledding here with some friends, inspired by my memories of sledding there during Snowpocalypse when I was at AU. It lived up to my rosy mems and did not disappoint! I would be a little cautious because you gain serious speed, and my friend actu
This is one of the nicest small trails in this region of the Rock Creek Park area. The trail crosses a little creek several times. The forest is pleasant and green, and the walk is fairly easy. The trail ends near the Peirce Mill site in Rock Creek.
Meridian Hill Park in DC is an absolute gem! ð³ð·ð¿ This urban oasis offers a perfect escape from the city's hustle and bustle. The beautiful cascading fountains, serene atmosphere, and lush greenery make it a peaceful haven for relaxation and
I love coming to barre at the DuPont studio and canât recommend it highly enough. The classes are challenging (there are multiple formats) but inclusive of people of all ages and fitness levels. When I first started barre, I didnât anticipate big
While I haven't trained at many BJJ schools, my experience at Estilo for the past year and a half has set a high bar in terms of my expectations for how a school should operate. The level of instruction, the variety of activities (expert seminars, in
Easily the best trainers I have worked with across multiple states and gyms. During the 2+ years I have worked with Fitness Together, I have seen dramatic results and that is even more impressive considering most of my sessions are now online. How th
Iâve been coming here since February of 2022 and love it. Iâve been doing CrossFit since 2007 and have been to many gyms over the years. First, the coaches and staff are extremely friendly and welcoming - whether youâre a newbie, beginner, dr
Been here a couple times now. Itâs very quaint but the staff is incredibly friendly and the coffee/food is excellent. A tight fit. Lots of people studying/ working on laptops. A nice patio. Music is nice and quiet in the background so if you donâ
I normally don't give a five star review, but I had a lot of fun here. It is on the second floor and there is no sign. We arrived at 4:30 pm on a Friday and people were already waiting. By opening time at 5pm, there were enough people to fill the pla
Never seen a bad review of this place and rightfully so! The food is so delicious and you feel completely at home. A quirky and very comfortable neighborhood spot that is super affordable and fantastic for brunch. The menu is all over the walls so p
Dang this was good. I was looking for a quick and healthy lunch to bring with me into a brewery close by and this didnât disappoint. I actually got 2 lunches to try multiple things. I got the Buffalo cauliflower tacos and the Sushi bowl. Both had
Big fan of the layout and appreciated the no-contact service. Ordering was easy to do with my phone and staff was helpful if folks had any difficulties. The outdoor layout is comfortable. The beverages were clearly made fresh and full of flavor - sna
