My family has been coming to Southwest golf center for several decades now. It was always a fun summer treat to drive out from Cleveland to the "far away" city of Berea to have ice cream at the Dairy queen and the. Play a round of mini golf. Now that I live in the area, I realized that while I have visited the Dairy queen, we had not visited the mini golf since COVID began. Met my parents at the location, had some ice cream and they, my wife, and I all played a round of mini-golf. I will say that the course is looking a little worse for wear but otherwise was still in a very playable state. Some of the starting green is worn and rough but it didn't prevent us from having a great time. Lots of folks were out also playing and it was great seeing several families with young children enjoying what I did as a child all those years ago. Its great when there is a sense of nostalgia that still rings true when you experience it later in life.
Nice old school spot. It's behind DQ and the mini golf is fun but long neglected like most mini golf out there. The range is nice, modern mats and everything is in good shape. Can't beat the price for a bucket of balls either. Plenty of clubs to rent or borrow if you don't bring your own
People who are complaining about the putt putt are communists, this place is great. Classic obstacles including full blown windmill action. Every hole has legitimate shot at a hole in one for even average players like us.
The range is perfectly fine but you do not get the number of balls as estimated by their signs inside. But I am thankful they are still here as so many driving ranges and courses have closed they are getting harder and harder to come by.
I've been practicing here for a few years and never cared about the actual number of balls that come in each bucket until this year. But, for an average count over the course of this summer the large baskets that are supposed to be "about 80" have not come close. I hit 30 baskets this summer so far and averaged 62 balls per bucket with a low of 53 and a high of 67. Give or take a few is one thing but having a low average and not once having 80 or more is suspect. On top of that, the baskets they provide don't look like they would hold 80 to begin with. Other than that, the place is a nice place to swing.
Great vintage classic putt putt course. I love the win a free game chance at the end. Dairy Queen is right there too. A great combination
they need to better count how many balls they fill in the basket. we usually purchase the largest basket of 190 balls for $18. todays the basket looks like half a way filled. We count every 10 balls hit then finally the number of ball given comes to 145. We don't really care if its more or less 20 short but today's 45!. I would not recommend to buy their largest basket. Talk to staff they seems don't care and all keep silent. That is not a good business practice.
Putt-putt: Bare bones area to hit the ball around. No theme, weedy grass, no updates. If you want a place to practice, no serious play, then this is the perfect place . The driving range behind is well used, appears to fulfill the need to practice. We've only accessed putt putt
