Outstanding experience! Mr and Mrs Sam went out their way to ensure my wife had all our needs filled including moving their car at 1:00 AM so I could park and charge my EV outside my room. The room was clean and modern. The housekeeper was friendly and polite even as we were late in checking out. We're always late checking out and are always end up having words with the housekeeper. Not the case at Southern Inn. I normally dont leave reviews but they made our experience so pleasant I feel I at least owe them a few minutes of my time taken to write this review. It seems were are only 2 of many satisfied guests. We chose this inn due to such high review ratings for such a reasonable price.
Southern Inn is a basic two story motel right rt I-95. They are pet friendly for a $20 pet fee. It's dated, and no frills. The sheets and towels were very clean. The bed was comfortable. The other guests were quiet which was good because the rooms are not very soundproof. I could hear the shower and water running in adjacent rooms. Staff are super nice as other reviews mention. I assume the family are the owners, and their concern for guests is obvious. My TV remote was unresponsive and the gentleman came in and replaced it. My non-smoking room did not have any smoke smell. I did unfortunately see a cockroach. Hopefully they will address the problem. I was already settled in so hung my items up on hooks, and kept my things zipped up. The room has a coffee maker, small fridge with separate freezer, and microwave. There's a Waffle House next door, and a McDonald's within very close walking distance.

My room was ok nothing fancy but it was clean no bugs and I had a TV to ignore other things. Only bad thing was I was by the vending machine and all night long I heard everyone at it or the ice machine
Stayed there last night. Clean! Smelled very clean! Bathroom was extremely clean. Beds were very comfortable! Managers went out of their way for us and very nice. It’s obvious they care about their guests and their property. Will definitely stay again.
Do not recommend! The check in clerk was completely clueless how to check us in when we arrived late at night. The ceiling in our room had cracks and looks like it will fall in at one spot. There was dry cereal on our bed upon entering our room. The floor had dirt and trash on it. My daughter was only up for 5-10 minutes before we left and her socks were literally black from the floors. The walls, doors and windows are so thin that it sounds like people walking by or talking are inside your room with you. Half the outlets in the room didn't work so we woke up to our electronics not charged. Thankfully we only stopped over night for a few hours on a road trip because there is no way I would stay here again. Oh and our "clean" bathroom mat had old blood on it. Absolutely disgusting.
Older motel, but room was clean and seemed updated. Didn’t smell bad…AC was great. Beds and pillows were comfortable. No roaches or bugs except for a little fly that got in when we opened the door lol super clean shower with mounted shampoo and body gel canisters. Cannot beat price in area. Rita and her husband were so sweet, especially Rita who was very welcoming. She offered to let me see the room before paying and all. They’re really trying to provide a decent stay at a lower cost. We left early and dropped our key in mailbox and as I got into our truck, I saw Rita waving her arm at us from the window saying goodbye. We’ll stay here each time we’re traveling through.
Very friendly staff. Great price. Large, clean rooms with the exception of a little dirt on the floors; could have been mopped better, but not bad. Comfortable beds with soft sheets. Good assortment of cable channels, especially ones for kids. Newly renovated. Mini fridge has a good size freezer, not the tiny cracker box kind that barely hold a Lean Cuisine. Well-maintained. Property is obviously cared for and respected.
