Hard to gauage this one as most everything was well done here. Presentation, food, associates, atmosphere... even the bathrooms were extremely clean. Parking was a challenge, but there were many places to eat and I don't fault the location for that. However, the pricing was just too high. If you want eclectic fare with a trendy, stoic atmosphere, then you will LOVE Southern Grounds. We enjoyed the food and coffee, but we won't return as 2 of us eating a simple breakfast just can't afford $40+ a visit.
Southern Grounds & Co. is an absolute gem! I love going to coffee shops and have been to many up and down the east coast from DC to Tampa. But this place is lovely! The coffee and cake are delicious. My medium vanilla latte was made perfect, not bitter, not too sweet, just right. And their bakery selections are great, I had a cake that was moist and melts in the mouth. I went here to do some work and it was a great atmosphere that families came to visit, others doing work as well, or a nice spot to meet a friend. Truly one of the best coffee shops on the east coast!
This place has “top-tier” vibes. You just want to be here because it FEELS good to be here. And then? They serve fantastic coffee and delicious food. I love meeting people here and spending some time just talking and being together. Highest praise from me because that’s just how it is!
Always, consistently great! I don't live in Jacksonville, but whenever I'm in town, it's my go-to place. Love the drinks, especially love the food, great atmosphere and always friendly and efficient staff .

It’s a little pricier BUT totally worth it. Eggs Benedict were perfectly plump, fresh fruit was just as expected with nothing even slightly old and the burrito was amazing!
I loved everything about this place. The setting is new and clean, the food was great. The service was friendly and fast. There is plenty of space to spread out and work if you need to.
I visited Jacksonville for three weeks in February and this was my favorite place. It’s fabulous anytime of day: breakfast, lunch, happy hour, dinner. In addition to coffee/tea, it has a wide food menu, including: healthy options, sandwiches, fries, tacos, desserts and more. The breakfast burrito (with half red sauce and half green) was a favorite. It’s worth upgrading to get a pancake instead of toast with the omelette. —> My favorite part of this place was the people: Violet, Kenny, Lentz, Tyler… thank you! (And I know I’m missing names; I’m sorry!) Also, there’s a great front outdoor seating area that is covered from sun/rain.
