Southern Fried - Restaurant in Mission - 1505 N Conway Ave, USA

I have to admit I was very skeptical when I first got there. The decor looks like your grandmother's attic exploded.. lol Very random and quirky antiques. Feels like you are stepping into a random roadside mom and pop dinner. All that being said I had already made up my mind that I wasn't going to like it. That was until I took my first bite of their fried catfish. WOW what an impressive job of frying with great flavor and still maintaining a flaky texture. The shrimp was no less impressive!! The sides were mediocre but the fish and shrimp stole the show. I will definitely be back and recommend to friends.

My group was seated right away but my group never received menus or was asked for drinks and my table was ignored for a little over 30 minutes.Two groups came in within the 30 minute frame and immediately got drinks and a menu after getting seated and then shortly got their order placed. My group decided to leave after getting ignored by the staff. I was looking forward to this experience as I heard good reviews from word of mouth. I find it unfortunate that I won't be able to experience what I have heard from my peers.

Thee most tenderest chicken tenders anywhere. Im not a fan of catfish due to the muddy taste it usually has but that’s what they have here. Still took a chance and I’m glad I did. It’s delicious! There was no muddy taste and it was fried to light and crispy perfection.

At first I was disappointed, I thought they had fried chicken, they have only tenders but they have the BEST fried fish in the valley. The shrimp looked great too but I'm allergic. I had mom's plate-2 filets frys and cole slaw. It was great. My wife had been looking all over the valley for good fried catfish. We found it here and we'll be back for more. They are closed Monday and Tuesday it was worth the wait.

We were seated immediately and then abandoned. We never received menus, our drinks were never taken, and tables that arrived after us received full service immediately. I swear the staff was actively avoiding us so after a half hour we just left.

The food is delicious and the customer service is really good. The restaurant is so clean and the them just looks amazing. the only negative thing I do have to mentioned is that is took us a while to get our order. Other than that I really enjoyed the restaurant and the food! I will definitely go back again! :)

So glad to have been in the area and remembered reading good reviews about this restaurant, all is true! Great atmosphere and such friendly and patient service (I always ask a lot of questions) then the food - truly delicious and we tried a bit of everything.... Fish, shrimp, chicken, fries, hush puppies, and charro beans - secret shared with us was to crumble the hush puppies in the charro beans 😋😲👍😊

Hands down the best fried fish and shrimp around. The fries were also very good. We took our food to go, but the ambiance in the restaurant was very cozy and welcoming. The staff were also very friendly and accommodating. My husband and I enjoyed perusing the historical photos of old Mission at the register counter while our food was prepared. The owner (Bobby…sorry if I misspelled it) came out to greet us and was very friendly. She sent us off with our order and some amazingly delicious soup she wanted us to try. I’m so glad she did because that soup was PHENOMENAL! I even called the restaurant to tell her so myself. I don’t why we’d waited so long to try Southern Fried, but I guarantee it won’t be long until we’re back again.
