Southern & Savory Cafe - Family restaurant in Auburn - 815 E Glenn Ave, USA

My mom and I were in the area. We stopped by during lunch. It was not very busy although they had several seated guests and a steady stream of customers. We were greeted by friendly staff. The menu was complete with a good selection of southern food. We ordered our food from the counter and dined in. We did not have to wait long for our food. My fried chicken was perfect and my mother said that it was the best fried pork chop she had from a restaurant in years. My fault for not asking beforehand, but the turnips had bits of bacon. Overall we did enjoy our dining experience. I would like to have came on a day when they had different menu choices as I understand their items do rotate and change frequently. The restaurant and the bathroom were clean, spacious, and well supplied. They could easily host a large group. It is located on the far corner of the plaza; and note that the parking lot is small.

The shrimp boil w/garlic butter was absolutely delicious on Friday. However, I am a regular customer. The food is always delicious at Southern & Savory Cafe. Ms. Kay and her staff are the best. You will not be disappointed.

Clean restaurant, order came out fast and hot. Nothing but deliciousness!!!! Hummingbird cake was soft fluffy with the right amount of sweetness and so good

Southern & Savory is the BEST southern food cuisine we have in our area! It’s like eating Sunday dinner after church. It’s so comforting! Do your tastebuds a favor and go see Ms. Kay and her wonderful team. Their service is nice and professional! Go on an empty stomach. You will not be disappointed!

I try to make it a point to stop by here when I'm in the Auburn area. They have great customer service and the food is even better. If it's available make sure to try the amazing hummingbird cake.

First time here. I had the fried chicken with mac & cheese and collard greens. I also got a slice of cake and a drink. Everything totaled about $23. (The meal doesn't come with a drink, and a slice of cake is almost $5). It was a bit expensive, but everything was delicious! I went on a Sunday, and they were busy. They told me it would take about 20 min to get my food, but it didn't take that long.

Only eaten at this restaurant a few times and so looking forward to trying more of their daily specials! The sides were seasoned well and the service is friendly but the meats need a little work still. Their menu is updated daily on Facebook and so hope to try some of their Cajun entrees soon!

This place is fantastic! So much to go over with this place. First off the food. The chicken is so crispy and good, the mac and cheese is so creamy, the cajun cabbage has a nice savory flavor, the oxtails and rice is seasoned perfectly and well cooked, and the yams are so sweet and flavorful! All the food is top notch and well done. The staff and their service is PHENOMENAL! Everyone is so nice and helpful, especially the owner of the restaurant who not only helps cook food but helps customers. And finally the atmosphere is just great. It reminds you of a true southern community place that you would go just to eat with your family and it’s fantastic. This restaurant is one of my favorites and I love coming here. If I could, I would give more than 5 stars!
