We stayed here in July 2023. We were here celebrating our sons graduation. We had a blast this hotel is in the perfect location private beach access right next to the pier several restaurants that you can walk to a store across the street. The staff is amazing the rooms are so comfortable. We so loved our stay and this place has now become our go to beach vacation place to stay. We can't wait to go back next July when our middle son graduates he has done asked to go here for his graduation trip.
I’ve stayed here since I was a toddler. 32 now. This is the best spot on the KB strip imo. Great location and the gentleman that always runs the desk (always watching golf) is super great. We always enjoy our stay here. Nothing beats the mom and pop motels. This one is super clean as well.
First time visitors to Kure beach. This is the place to stay. Right next to pier and walking distance to restaurants. Rooms were a little dated but clean and comfortable. The staff is amazing and made us feel so welcome. We will be returning to stay again. Walk to beach right outside. If you can do stairs highly recommend 2nd floor rm 210. The view was spectacular sun rise every morning. Close to all attractions. Only complaint was the fact that you have to pay to park in town and it can get expensive. We stayed close and walked to many places. Next time we will be taking advantage of the kitchenette in the room. Bring the coffee and ice not provided but everything else is there. Perfect spot to stay & relax.
Simple and all we need for a relaxing vacation. Nothing fancy, great folks working there that help you when it’s needed. Close to Kure Beach Pier, numerous restaurants, small stores that are fun to visit. Rates are reasonable, plenty of parking.
I've been coming down here since I was a kid, it's a great little motel. It's located right beside the pier with restaurants close by. Would highly recommend for anyone planning a fishing or beach vacation.
If you're wanting an affordable, basic motel room, this is it. Very clean, fantastic location on the beach, right next to pier and wonderful Jack mackerals restaurant.
I am a big fan of pools open late at night and i wasn’t impressed with this one. The sign on the pool says it closes at 10 pm but the workers close it whenever they want. Today they closed to at 7. I do like how you get a good view of the ocean, and how they have showers and foot rinses on the walk there. There is also an ice box in the room but no ice machine or ice trays provided, like why would you give us an ice box but no ice? I really do love the cat that comes around though.
Suitable for our needs,Right at the pier, oceanfront cool air. We enjoyed our stay!Kitchenette so we didn’t need to even eat out , and pay for parking, unless we chose to.

If I could rate this motel. I would rate it a 10. Comfortable and clean and Couldn't have asked for nicer people than Amy and Woody! Love those folks. If ever in the area, I would highly recommend By The Pier!!!!!
Rooms are small, but clean. Fridge and microwave are bigger than the high dollar hotels. Close to EVERYTHING!! Pier, beach, restaurants, shopping. Pool is clean and guessing 16x32. Will definitely stay again when in the area! Owners and staff are fri
Locals know this is the place to go to. Free access and 4WD for those who enjoy off roading. The gates close around 8 or 9 but you can still park outside of them and stay longer if you would like! The aquarium is close and there's lots of sights to s
What a spectacular location steeped in history! The beauty of the raw outdoors! There was ample signage to understand the history of the location! The place is sprawling, and serene! Definitely worth a visit when you are in Wilmington! We did not go
During winter visit, great place to stop and look for sea shells. Got some great shots. Bathrooms are locked for winter season. Nice area to drive through.
If I lived nearby, I'd be a regular here. Fresh ingredients and tasty food. The fries were especially good. My friend loved her B.L.E.A.T sandwich which is their special twist to a BLT. We also got a mini key lime pie to go. Staff is all super f
A hidden gem in Kure Beach. I can give my stamp of approval that the Italian food here is well done. I grew up in an Italian family, and this is one of the few restaurants that put fresh basil in the pasta. A sweet surprise for me! Delicious! The shr
