Amazing place to visit with kids. $10 for adults and kids under 4 are free so that’s a huge bonus. Plus there’s so much to see from large snakes, gators, and of course birds. We will go back!
Excellent place. Learned so much today about snakes. The staff is very knowledgeable and passionate. The boardwalk is a gem for birders and photography.
It's a fun place to visit. You can probably see more birds during the springtime. They had gators, some tortoises, a couple of snakes. You can feed the gators and the tortoises. They also had feeding time with the two bigger gators, had staff doing a walk through catching fish for the kids to see. They had a part of the building where you can go to the third story and see a lot of the scenery. It was a nice place, I would visit again.
This was one of those things that surprised us. We figured that it would take us an hour at most to do this, but it turned out that we enjoyed it so much that we ended up walking around the exhibits and outdoor area for over 3 hours. We got the gator and turtle feed but found that the gators really weren't interested that much in it. The turtles would come "running" when you showed them the feed. They also offer guided birding tours but they sell out fairly quickly.
Had an amazing time here. The whole family loved it. Way bigger than I thought, and it looks like they might be expanding. Saw various different birds, but it was more than that. We also saw alligators, turtles, lizards, and fish. Each of the family members also had a chance to feed some turtles and tortoises. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
If you're going to be in the area, this is a must-see. Very reasonably priced (~$10) and you're going to see some cool stuff. The staff were all super nice. It's not a huge area but you're also not paying for a huge area.
The most amazing part of this place is that it is on the bay side where the sunsets, but they are closed before sunset. The other thing is some of the walkways are almost touching to the The Laguna Madre Nature Trail but not connected. The adjacent Laguna Madre Nature Trail is free and this place is not. This place does have a a few more amenities provided but the price may not be justified for all. I was amazed by the variety of birds and the alligators. The staff were courteous and helpful. They have plenty of parking and an option to stay on the walkway past closing time but it would be nice to share walkway resources with the convention center and to have reasonable options to view the natural habitat at sunset.
Awesome views and well cared for animals! Very clean facility. Probably our favorite stop so far on the island. Would recommend checking out for families or even just adults.

Went in for Christmas present and was pleasantly surprised by both the selection and the customer service. Rachel and Ashton helped my find a anklet that was just what I was looking for. Would go here again if looking for a present.
When I don't feel like driving anywhere and want to walk to the beach, this access is the closest for me. There isn't much parking here but there are benches and a place to rinse off.
We stayed our 1st night in a much older Comfort Inn. Woke up to Roaches crawling in the bed, on the walls, and all over the toilet paper!! We left!! We relocated to a brand new Comfort Inn, and everything was wonderful!!
Entrance is by the convention center with plenty of parking. At the entrance is a small but nice park and restrooms. The walkways to the bay have informative signage and wide paths with railings. Some sections are covered and have seating for taking
Gonna Gonna Wanna Wanna go back! Fun to relax, sip a beverage or two... meet people. Just don't go during July 4th! Too hot & crowded. Food is nothing to brag about. Nicer on cooler weather!
We have eaten at the Palmâs Cafe for many years and love it because it is on the gulf side with a beach entrance right. This made it so nice to walk out of my hotel room and stroll down the beach for awhile. Front desk customers service upon arriva
Took us on a super short notice, like literally the same day at like 1am. Guy was pretty cool. Rooms are mid at best but hey for a quick night to sleep on short notice, who can complain you know? Overall alright. Thanks for taking us!
