I’ve been coming here since I moved to JC for drinks. I just tried the food for the first time. The burger was cooked to perfection and the fries were seasoned and delicious. The cocktails are always on point, even if pricey. I highly recommend this place for an American/southern meal, comfort food, and great drinks. We had pretty good service too. The bar is one of the most beautiful in jersey city, especially with the Christmas lights! Favorite drinks: midnight mojito, pear cocktail and anything with gin. Order a cocktail- you won’t be disappointed. :)
Perfect place to hang out with friend. And have a wonderful experience. The food was exquisite, very well executed. Great 10/10 for the Chef and culinary team.
It’s like a pub here didn’t have food though but the ambience and drinks are good.. they do have Love performances going on and it’s really good .. they also have a game section below where you have pool and fusball and couple more games for fun!! Overall the clue is really cool if you wanna hangout!!
We just love South House, everything is absolutely delicious! I would come here every week. The staff is amazing and super friendly ❤️
First of all - there's no sign outside. It was quite hard to find this place. Maybe that's why that place was almost empty in the evening time. Velvet elvis burger was average. Chicken sandwich I believe was okay. The place offers a large selection of cocktails. Stuff was very attentive and helpful.
My husband and I were staying in the city for just 1 night as part of a weekend trip to see a concert at The Prudential. I am so glad that we chose South House! To start, the atmosphere was welcoming, inviting, and warm. Words won't do it justice; check out the pictures. Service was attentive and our server (so upset I forgot his name) spent some time chatting with us, as we weren't locals and it turned out his sister lives in a town neighboring ours. Drinks were refilled, food brought out promptly, and the whole experience was great. We ordered only 2 items- the Velvet Elvis burger and the Chopped Brisket Sandwich. Both highly recommended! The burger was cooked perfectly and the combo of flavors was delicious. Chopped Brisket also delicious, although I would get extra bbq to dip into next time. And the mac and cheese - so good, but made even better by the Dorito Dust! Already more items I can't wait to try next time we are in town.
We came over from Brooklyn on a Friday night. We were able to be seated immediately without a reservation. The tables were spacious and it was nice not to feel like we were sitting on top of the people next to us. The food took about and hour to come out, but it was worth the wait. We ordered the Tailgate Fried Chicken sandwich and the Verde Burger. The fries were cooked perfectly. We split the Bread Pudding for dessert. We tried several cocktails: Pumpkin Spice Mule (delicious), Hit the Road Jack, and Bad Apple. I look forward to taking another trip to Jersey to try more items on the menu.
Brisket burger and a detox salad for about $40 and very disappointed with the quality of food. Brisket is dry. Detox Salad is small and sad. Fries are too salty.
This place is amazing. Great Coffee and really high quality sandwiches, all for the same price or even less expensive than Starbucks (and less crowded). Awesome bakery stuff too. Canât recommend it enough.
